Meidät otettiin yhteyteen äiti-koirasta, joka oli synnyttänyt tyhjän rakennuksen alla. Äiti suhtautui meihin erittäin varauksellisesti ja hoiti vauvojaan erinomaisesti, joten menimme päivittäin ruokkimaan emoa ja tarkistamaan pentujen vointia. Eräänä päivänä, kun saavuimme paikalle, pennut olivat kadonneet. Myöhemmin selvisi, että ne oli viety ja heitetty metsään. Onnistuimme lopulta löytämään ne ja tuomaan ne takaisin tarhaan. Shumba oli yksi niistä pennuista. Se on edelleen tarhassa ja alkaa olla jo vanha, mutta se ei estä sitä olemaan iloinen ja rakastava poika.

We were contacted about a mother dog who had given birth under an empty building. The mother was very wary of us and was doing a great job with the babies so we would go daily to feed the mum and check on the pups. One day when we arrived they were gone. We later found out that they had been taken and dumped in the forest. We managed to find them and take them back to the shelter. Shumba was one of those pups. He is still at the shelter and is getting old now but that doesn't stop him from being a happy, loving boy.
