Trinity on keskikokoinen rastipossu, noin kahden tai kolmen vuoden ikäinen. Ei vielä testattu. Olisi helpompaa yksinäisen koiran kotona. Varovainen joillekin miehille. Kotoa tarvitaan tyypillisesti naisia. Lapset 12 ja vanhemmat. Tapaamme Trinityn matkalla romanialaiselle laitokselle lokakuussa viime vuonna. Hän asui ulkona kadulla muiden kanojen kanssa ja oli raskas, ei ensimmäistä kertaa valitettavasti. Kun pelastaja ottoi hänet laitoksen porttien sisälle, hän kysyi, ottaisimmeko me hänet ja tietenkin sopimme. Valitettavasti naapuruston ei ollut ihan ystävällinen kanoille sillä kadulla ja he heittivät kiveä heitä ajahtaakseen pois, koska eivät halunneet niitä lähellä. Tämän seurauksena Trinity on erittäin varovainen miehiä kohtaan ja hän haukkuu heitä. Ajan myötä hän voi oppia luottamaan tiettyihin miestä, mutta valitettavasti emme voi poistaa näitä muistoja täysin. Ideaalisesti kaikki naiset kotona olisi parasta, mutta hyvin pitkäntekoinen ja ymmärtävä mies voisi voittaa hänen luottamuksensa ajan myötä. Se on vain haukkuu, kuin hän yrittää varoittaa muita siitä, että miehiä on läheisyydessä ja heidän tulisi pelätä, muut ohittavat häntä ja jatkavat päivääan. Trinity asuu monien muiden kanojen kanssa ja suurelta osin kaikki on kunnossa. Hän voi olla hieman kilpailullinen ruoasta ja huomiosta, joten mahdollisesti koti yksinäisenä koirana olisi helpompi. Tarvitsee kotia, jossa ei ole lapsia alle 12-vuotiaita. Trinity kävelee hyvin riippulangalla ja rakastaa uutta kotielämäänsä. Trinity hoitokodissa Norwich Norfolk. Adoption Terms & Conditions Kun adoptoit Safe Rescue -koiran, sinun on pakko käyttää liukuvankoa. Se säilyttää koirasi turvalliseksi: uusi koirasi on epävarma ja ei usko sinuun, et tiedä mitkä tilanteet voivat herättää hänen pelonsa. Jos koirasi paniikissa, liukuvanko on ainoa tapa estää hänen paetakseen (monet koirat voivat paeta korista ja/tai hihasta). Se kestää vähintään 3–6 kuukautta, että koirasi rauhoittuu ja sinä tulet tarkemmin tuntemaan hänet (pidempää epävarmille koirille). Liukuvankoa on aina käytettävä rauhoittumisaikana. Vaikka koirasi on rauhoittunut, on turvallisinta käyttää liukuvankoa tilanteissa, joissa koirasi voi pelätä (esim. uusissa paikoissa, vieraiden ihmisten lähellä, eläinlääkärissä), ja tilanteissa, joissa odottamattomat ärsykkeet voivat tapahtua (esim. bonfire-näyttelyiden aikana). Trinity is a medium sized crossbreed aged around two to three years old. Not yet tested. Would be easier as an only dog. Wary of some men. Female home preferred. Children 12 plus I met Trinity during a trip to a Romanian shelter back in October last year. She was living outside on the street along with a few other dogs and was pregnant, not for the first time sadly. When the rescuer captured her inside the gates of the shelter she asked if we would take her and of course we agreed. Unfortunately the neighbourhood were not kind to the dogs in that street and would throw rocks at them to chase them away as they didn’t want them around. As a result of this Trinity is extremely wary of men and will bark at them. In time she can learn to trust individual men but we sadly cannot erase these memories altogether. Ideally an all female home would be best but a very patient and understanding man could win her trust over time. It is only barking, it’s like she’s trying to warn the others that there’s a man around and they should be scared, the others ignore her and carry on with their day lol. Trinity is currently living with many other dogs and for the most part is ok. She can be a little jealous over food and fuss though so maybe a home as the only dog would be easier. She would need a home with no children under the age of twelve. Trinity walks nicely on a lead and is loving her new domestic life. Trinity fostered Norwich Norfolk. Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
