Xando löytyi poliisien toimesta kävelyssä, kipukirjan kanssa, liian kevyt ja kasvojen iho huonossa tilassa. Pystyimme ottamaan yhteyttä rekisteröityyn omistajaan, joka asuu kylpyhuonekärryssä ja sanoi ettei halua koiraansa takaisin, joten hän vain jätti vanhan koiransa. Xando on kaunis vanhaan tyyliin saksanpaimenkoira, suhteellisen suoralla selällä, ei ripotusloviä ja musta-ruskea pitkä villi. Iho silmien ympärillä oli vaurioitunut pitkän aikaa ollutta tulehdusta, mutta se on parantunut hyvin – vain hiusta ei todennäköisesti kasva enää silmien ympärille… mahdollisesti kotona… Xando saattaa olla jo vanha, mutta hän on vielä aktiivinen ja rakastaa matkoja vapaaehtojen kanssa. Xando kävelee hyvin kiinnityksellä, ja hän usein kävelee alustavien vapaaehtojen ja perheiden kanssa. Hän on selvästi pelannut paljon heittelyä elämässään ja hän varmasti rakastaa sitä, mutta suosittelemme vaihtamaan heittelypelit jotain vaivattomampaa ikään nähden, hieman pehmeää maata kaivamista, etsintäpelejä, kävelyä hiekasta, uimista – nämä toimet ovat paljon terveellisempiä Xandolle. Hän on ihana ihmisiin, hän haluaa kosketuksia ja tulee kun sinä kutsut häntä. Hän on myös ruoka-ohjattu, mikä on erinomainen harjoittelu yhdessä elämään! Hän on erittäin älykäs poika, ja oppii nopeasti, joten hän tulee varmasti nopeasti tottumaan uuteen ympäristöön! Hän ajaa hyvin autossa, mikä on loogista, koska hänen "ihminensä" asui kylpyhuonekärryssä. Xando ottaa leluja hieman innostuneesti ja hän on melko korkeassa energiatasossa ikänsä huomioiden, joten suosittelemme Xandoa kotitalouksiin ilman pieniä lapsia, ja parhaiten ilman muita koiria hetken aikaa, koska emme ole testanneet häntä yhdessä asuvien koirien kanssa, mutta rauhallinen, sosiaalinen naaras voi tulla harkittavaksi ja laitoksen tiimi suorittaa testit. Kävelyissä hän ohittaa muut koirat rauhallisesti, on kiinnostunut joistakin enemmän kuin muista, mutta ei tehyt dramaa, erityisesti kun hän on pois laitoksesta. Hän rakastaa marsteja ja on erinomainen vierailija arjessa. Xando on hyvässä terassissa niin kauan kuin tiedämme, ja hän on negatiivinen makedonia-tautien, mukaan lukien Leishmania. Xando was found by the police wandering around, with a microchip, skinny and with the skin on his face in bad condition. We were able to get in touch with the registered owner, who apparently lives in a caravan and said he doesn't want the dog back anymore, so he just abandoned his old dog. Xando is a beautiful old-school German Shephard, with a relatively straight back, no hanging hips, and a black-brown long fur. The skin around his eyes was damaged from being left with inflammation over a long period of time, however that has healed well - just the fur won't really grow back around his eyes anymore.... maybe in a home.... Xando might be already older, but he is still active and loves to go for adventures with our volunteers. Xando walks very well on the leash, and in the shelter he often walks with beginner volunteers and families. He has clearly been playing a lot of fetch in his life and he definitely loves it, however we would recommend switching the fetching games for something more smooth for his aging bones, a bit of soft soil digging, searching games, walking in the sand, swimming - these activities will be much healthier for Xando. He is lovely with humans, likes to be touched, and comes when you call him. He is also food-motivated so that's great for training him for a life together! He is a very very clever boy, and learns really quickly, so he will surely get used to a new environment quickly! He also drives very well in the car, which makes sense, since his previous "human" was living in a caravan. Xando takes snacks a bit enthusiastically and his is quite high energy for his age, so we would recommend Xando to homes without small children, and preferably without other dogs at the moment as we have not tested him for co-living with other dogs, however a calm, social female could be considered and the shelter team would carry out the tests. On the walks he passes other dogs calmly, is more interested in some than others, but makes no drama, especially when he is away from the shelter. He loves to go on hikes, and is an excellent companion for everyday life. Xando is in very good health as far as we can tell, and he is tested negative on Mediterranean diseases, including Leishmania. Xando's shoulder height is about 65cm.
