Cisco est arrivé au centre Hope For Podencos en 2019 avec sa mère Belle Star, qui, croyez-le ou non, est un Podenco Andaluz complet - clairement le papa un peu moins paddy ! Irene a senti qu'il était ignoré et a pris la décision d'envoyer à un foyer au Royaume-Uni en juillet de cette année, peu de temps après son arrivée en foyer, il a été adopté. Malheureusement, avec l'arrivée d'enfants dans la maison, Cisco a eu du mal à s'adapter aux changements apportés. Après une formation et un soutien comportemental, l'équipe et l'adoptant ont pris la décision difficile que le changement d'environnement était trop difficile pour lui et que la chose la plus bienveillante à faire était de le reloger. Nous pensions qu'un nouveau départ avec notre fournisseur spécialisé nous donnerait une image très claire de ce qui se passait pour lui, et de ce dont il avait besoin à l'avenir - cela l'a beaucoup aidé et il a maintenant été transféré vers un foyer capable de recréer cela pour lui. Cisco peut être un jeune garçon anxieux, et nous pensons qu'un foyer en tant que seul chien, ou avec un petit chien calme, fonctionnerait le mieux, car il trouve les grands chiens de n'importe quel sexe intimidants. Il n'est pas le chien le plus joueur, mais il sera heureux de courir aux côtés de tout compagnon dans le jardin ou dans un champ sécurisé. Il a vraiment pu s'attacher aux humains dans les deux foyers d'accueil - bien qu'il puisse encore être un peu plus timide avec son papa en famille d'accueil, il se blottit volontiers auprès de tous une fois rassuré ! Il a été très curieux et affectueux avec l'équipe quand ils l'ont rencontré en famille d'accueil. C'est un chien à faible énergie qui adore se prélasser sur le canapé en profitant des câlin! Cisco a besoin d'un foyer sans enfants ou chats, afin que ses niveaux de stimulation restent à ceux que nous savons fonctionnent le mieux, calmes et réguliers avec un environnement très routine et prédictible - tout en disant cela, il gère bien la vie en ville. Il marche magnifiquement en laisse et ses anxiétés disparaissent lorsqu'il est confiant avec son humain en sortant. C'est tout simplement un garçon très affectueux et aimant, il veut être avec les gens et être choyé. Toutefois, il peut être laissé pendant quelques heures à la fois. C'est un mangeur et cela a grandement aidé à l'entraînement et à l'attachement. Cisco est stérilisé, vacciné et négatif pour toutes les maladies méditerranéennes. Cisco arrived at the Hope For Podencos centre back in 2019 with his mum Belle Star, who believe it or not is a full Podenco Andaluz - clearly dad a little less paddy! Irene felt he was being overlooked so made the decision to send him to UK foster in July of that year, not long after arriving in foster he was adopted. Sadly with the addition of children arriving in the home, Cisco has struggled to cope with the changes this has brought. After training and behaviour support the team and adopter made the difficult decision that the environment change was just too much for him and the kindest thing we could do was re-home him. We felt a reset with our specialist foster would give us a really clear picture of what is going on for him,and what he needs moving forward - this did him the world of good and he has now been moved to a foster that can re-create this for him. Cisco can be an anxious boy, and we feel that either a home as an only dog, or with a smaller calm dog would work best as he can find larger dogs of either sex intimidating. He is not the most playful dog, but will happily have a run alongside any companion in the garden or secure field. He has been able to really bond with the humans in both foster homes - although he can still be a little more shy with his foster dad he happily cuddles up to all once reassured! He was really curious and affectionate with the team when they met him in foster. He is a low energy dog that just loves to be lounging around on the sofa enjoying cuddles! Cisco needs a home with no children or cats, so that his stimulation levels can remain where we know they work best, nice and level with a very routine and predictable environment - that being said ha handles London life well. He walks beautifully on the lead and his anxieties drop away when he is confident with his human out and about. He is just such a loving and affectionate boy, he wants to be with people and made a fuss of. That being said he can be left for a few hours at a time. He is a foody and this has helped greatly with training and bonding. Cisco is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
