Max est un super Lurcher qui a été rendu à nous par sa famille adoptive. Ils ont pris la décision douloureuse de le lui rendre car il devenait dominant face à l'autre chien de la maison. C'est un garçon très excitable et heureux, essentiellement un petit chien trop grand dans un grand corps. Max est plein de fun et d'enthousiasme et aura besoin d'un foyer actif qui puisse répondre à ses besoins en exercice et en stimulation. Il connaît déjà quelques ordres de base tels que « assis », « paume », « allongé » et « attends », et il a envie d'interagir avec ses maîtres. Il est très orienté vers la nourriture, ce qui rend l'entraînement agréable et récompensant, et il montre déjà de bonnes manières alimentaires, patientant lorsqu'on lui demande. Max adore énormément les autres chiens et s'excite énormément lorsqu'il voit un nouveau ami potentiel. Cependant, il est encore jeune, plein d'énergie et pas toujours conscient de sa taille et de sa force. Cela peut parfois le rendre trop excité, un peu trop bouchonné et involontairement intimidant pour d'autres chiens. Il travaille dur sur ses compétences sociales et s'habitue à se socialiser tout en portant un collier de sécurité pour des interactions sûres et positives. Cela est uniquement une précaution, et ses futurs adoptants devront continuer cet entraînement et adopter une approche responsable lors de son introduction aux autres chiens. Comme il était trop pour un autre chien timide dans sa précédente maison, nous pensons que Max serait le plus adapté à vivre seul, à condition qu'il ait beaucoup de socialisation appropriée avec des chiens de taille et de style de jeu similaires. Il ne peut pas vivre avec des chats ou des petits rongeurs. Étant donné que Max a vécu auparavant dans une maison, il est familier avec les bruits et les images de la maison et est propre à l'intérieur. Cependant, il travaille encore sur ses bonnes manières en laisse et tire quand il est excité. Un entraînement continu, une structure et une cohérence seront importantes, ainsi qu'une stimulation mentale suffisante pour garder son esprit occupé. Il prospérera dans un foyer qui peut offrir des activités telles que des jeux d'entraînement ou même des sports canins. Max pourrait partager sa maison avec des adolescents expérimentés âgés de 16 ans et plus, qui comprennent qu'il peut être un peu comme un taureau dans une porcelaine. Toute personne jeune présente dans la maison devra être confiante et ne pas avoir peur d'un chien enthousiaste qui pourrait sauter pendant qu'il continue à travailler sur ses manières. Max a des difficultés avec l'anxiété de séparation et peut devenir destructeur s'il est seul pendant de longues périodes, donc il aura besoin d'un foyer où quelqu'un est présent la plupart du temps et qui s'engage à l'aider progressivement à construire sa confiance lorsqu'il est seul. La nouvelle maison de Max devra avoir un grand jardin sécurisé avec des limites de 1,8 mètres, où il pourra se défouler. Max sera un merveilleux ajout à un foyer ayant de l'expérience avec des races similaires. Il est vraiment un charmant garçon, bondissant, affectueux et plein de vie, avec beaucoup de potentiel. C'est un garçon au grand cœur qui donne tout son cœur, et avec la bonne direction, il deviendra un compagnon incroyable.

Max is a superstar Lurcher who has been returned to us from his adoptive family. They made the heartbreaking decision to bring him back as he was becoming dominant over the other dog in the home. He is a very excitable, happy boy - essentially an overgrown puppy in a big body. Max is full of fun and enthusiasm and will need an active home that can meet his exercise and stimulation needs. He already knows some basic commands such as “sit”, “paw”, “lay down”, and “wait”, and he is eager to interact with his people. He is very food oriented, which makes training enjoyable and rewarding, and he already shows lovely food manners, waiting patiently when asked. Max absolutely loves other dogs and gets incredibly excited when he sees a potential new friend. However, he is still young, full of energy, and not always aware of his size and strength. This can sometimes lead to him becoming overexcited, a little mouthy, and unintentionally overwhelming other dogs. He has been working hard on his social skills and has been socialising while wearing a muzzle for safe and positive interactions. This is purely as a precaution, and his future adopters will need to continue this training and take a responsible approach when introducing him to other dogs. As he was too much for a more timid dog in his previous home, we feel that Max would be best suited to being homed as an only dog, provided he has plenty of appropriate socialisation with dogs of a similar size and play style. He cannot live with cats or small furries. As Max has previously lived in a home, he is familiar with household sights and sounds and is house trained. However, he is still working on his lead manners and can pull when he gets excited. Ongoing training, structure, and consistency will be important, along with plenty of mental stimulation to keep his busy mind engaged. He would thrive in a home that can offer activities such as training games or even dog sports. Max could share his home with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over, who understand that he can be a bit of a bull in a china shop. Any young people in the home will need to be confident and not worried by an enthusiastic dog who may jump up while he continues to work on his manners. Max does struggle with separation anxiety and can become destructive if left alone for long periods, so he will need a home where someone is around most of the time and who is committed to helping him gradually build confidence with being left. Max's new home will need a large, secure garden with 6ft boundaries, where he can let off some steam. Max will make an amazing addition to a home with experience of similar breeds. He truly is a lovely boy, bouncy, affectionate, and full of life, with so much potential. He is a big-hearted lad who gives his whole heart, and with the right guidance, he will grow into an incredible companion.
