Shadow est un chien intelligent, affectueux et jeune qui a eu un début difficile dans la vie. Il a déjà été adopté et réadopté plus d'une fois, pas parce qu'il n'est pas un merveilleux chien, mais parce qu'il a besoin d'un type particulier de maison pour qu'il puisse s'épanouir. Ce dont il a vraiment besoin maintenant, c'est de quelqu'un patient, engagé et prêt à travailler avec lui afin qu'il puisse enfin s'installer et s'épanouir. C'est un garçon joueur au grand cœur, et lorsqu'il se détend, il apporte la joie à tous ceux qui le rencontrent. Il a des moments très calmes où il choisit de s'installer avec les humains et les autres chiens, il apprécie le jeu et apprend rapidement de nouvelles choses. Comme beaucoup de Podenco Manetos, il est assez charismatique et a un côté espiègle : un grand caractère dans un petit package ! Il part actuellement sa maison avec un autre chien, avec lequel il s'entend très bien. Il peut vivre avec d'autres chiens ou en tant que compagnon seul. Shadow travaille actuellement sur certains défis, notamment l'anxiété, la poursuite de son ombre à l'intérieur et la réactivité à l'égard des chiens inconnus pendant les promenades. Il fait déjà de bons progrès avec un plan de comportement et un médicament contre l'anxiété (que la sauvegarde peut couvrir), et nous avons un comportementaliste qui continuera à fournir un soutien continu à quiconque l'adopte ou le prend en pension. Avec la constance et l'engagement, Shadow montre qu'il peut vraiment réussir. Nous recherchons une maison située dans un environnement rural ou dans une petite ville afin que ses promenades soient tranquilles et calmes. Il a vécu heureusement avec des enfants auparavant, nous pensons qu'une maison avec des enfants âgés de 12 ans ou plus fonctionnerait le mieux pour lui. Au premier plan, Shadow a besoin de stabilité et de quelqu'un qui restera avec lui à travers les hauts et les bas alors qu'il continue son parcours. Il est vacciné et a testé négatif pour toutes les maladies méditerranéennes, et son stérilisation sera examinée avec nous au bon moment à l'avenir. Shadow is a clever, affectionate young dog who has had a tough start in life. He’s already been adopted and rehomed more than once, not because he isn’t a wonderful dog, but because he needs a special kind of home to help him thrive. What he really needs now is someone patient, committed, and ready to work with him so he can finally settle and blossom. He is a playful boy with a big heart, and when he relaxes, he brings joy to everyone who meets him. He has some lovely calm moments where he chooses to snuggle up with humans and other dogs, enjoys play, and is quick to learn new things. Like many Podenco Manetos he is quite the character and has a cheeky side - a big personality in a small package! He currently shares his home with another dog, who he gets along with very well. He could live with other dogs or as a solo companion. Shadow is currently working through some challenges, including anxiety, shadow chasing in the home, and lead reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs on walks. He is already making good progress with a behaviour plan and anxiety medication (which the rescue can cover), and we have a behaviourist who will continue to provide ongoing support to anyone who adopts or fosters him. With consistency and commitment, Shadow is showing that he can really succeed. We are looking for a home set in a rural or small-town setting so his walks can nice and quite/calm. He has lived happily with children before, we feel a home with children aged 12 or over would work best for him. Above all, Shadow needs stability and someone who will stick with him through the ups and downs as he continues his journey. He is vaccinated, and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases, and his neutering will be reviewed with us at the right time in the future. He is ready to go to his next home now!
