Starlight prospérera auprès des amateurs de bergers qui comprennent la race et savent comment orienter positivement son intelligence et sa vitalité. Elle est très énergique et absolument obsédée par les jouets, notamment sa balle, donc un foyer actif qui apprécie le jeu, l'entraînement et l'enrichissement mental serait idéal. Bien qu'elle aime ses jouets, une fois qu'ils sont rangés, elle se calme très bien. Une fois installée, elle peut être laissée quelques heures, bien que tout temps seul doive être progressivement augmenté. Avec la bonne guidance, structure et engagement, Starlight sera une compagne fidèle, amusante et récompensante pour la bonne famille. Starlight est un berger à 6 ans et 7 mois, pleine d'énergie et d'enthousiasme typique des bergers. Elle peut être inquiète lors de la rencontre avec de nouvelles personnes, mais une fois qu'elle vous connaît, elle devient un vrai petit câlin ! Elle peut être confuse en présence d'autres chiens en raison d'un manque de socialisation, donc elle aura besoin d'un foyer expérimenté engagé dans un entraînement continu et une socialisation soigneuse. Starlight devra être le seul animal du foyer et conviendra mieux à un foyer composé uniquement d'adultes. Un jardin sécurisé serait bénéfique pour qu'elle évapore son énergie en sécurité, et elle conviendrait mieux à une zone plus calme car elle a tendance à poursuivre les objets en mouvement tels que les voitures, et peut s'énerver sur la laisse lorsqu'elle sort. Elle est en cage dans une zone plus calme en raison de la vie en cage et des changements qu'elle a subis, ce qui a été très stressant pour elle. La nouvelle famille de Starlight devra venir au centre à plusieurs reprises et être assez proche du centre, car son parcours d'adoption continu impliquera qu'elle passe de courtes périodes chez elle. Notre équipe d'entraînement et de comportement est là pour offrir des conseils et un accompagnement pendant cette étape de l'adoption.

Starlight will thrive with collie lovers who understand the breed and know how to positively channel her intelligence and drive. She is high energy and absolutely obsessed with toys—especially her ball—so an active home that enjoys play, training, and mental enrichment would be ideal. Although she loves her toys, once they are put away she settles really nicely. Once settled, she can be left for a few hours, though any time alone will need to be built up gradually. With the right guidance, structure, and commitment, Starlight will make a loyal, fun, and rewarding companion for the right home. Starlight is a beautiful 6-year & 7 month old Collie with bags of energy and classic collie enthusiasm. She can be worried when meeting new people, but once she knows you she is a cuddle bug! She can be conflicted around other dogs due to being under-socialised, so she will need an experienced home committed to ongoing training and careful socialisation. Starlight would need to be the only pet in the home and best suited to an adult only home. A secure garden would be beneficial for her to safely burn off energy, and she would be best suited to a quieter area as she has a tendency to chase moving objects such as cars, and can get frustrated on the lead when out and about. She is in kennels in a quieter area due to kennel life and the changes she has experienced being very stressful for her. Starlight's new family will need to come to the centre on multiple meets and be fairly close to the centre as her ongoing adoption journey will involve her going to the home for short stays.
