Wesley est entré au NSPCA par l'intermédiaire de nos inspecteurs après avoir passé la majeure partie de sa vie attaché à une chaîne. Malgré un passé difficile, ce magnifique Border Collie de 5 ans a toujours un caractère doux et gentil qui ressort. Il peut être hésitant lorsqu'il s'agit d'affection et apprend encore comment interagir avec les humains, souvent en donnant de petits coups tandis qu'il essaie de comprendre. Avec de la patience et de la bienveillance, il commence à comprendre que le contact humain peut être une expérience positive et apaisante. Wesley est très motivé par la nourriture et fera presque n'importe quoi pour des friandises, ce qui sera très utile lors de l'entraînement et pour renforcer sa confiance. Il s'est déjà bien adapté à porter un harnais et fait déjà des progrès lors de ses promenades. En raison de son passé, Wesley présente une réactivité liée à la garde et aura besoin d'un maître expérimenté qui comprenne son histoire et soit engagé à l'aider à continuer à apprendre, à grandir et à s'adapter à la vie dans un environnement familial. Avec la bonne guidance, Wesley a beaucoup de potentiel pour devenir un merveilleux compagnon.

Wesley came into the NSPCA through our inspectors after spending most of his life tied to a chain. Despite such a difficult past, this beautiful 5-year-old Border Collie still has a kind and gentle nature that shines through. He can be unsure when it comes to affection and is still learning how to interact with people, often giving little bumps as he figures things out. With patience and kindness, he is beginning to understand that human contact can be a positive and comforting experience. Wesley is very food motivated and will do just about anything for treats, which will be a great help when it comes to training and building his confidence. He has taken well to wearing a harness and is already making progress with his walks. Due to his past, Wesley experiences guarding based reactivity and will need an experienced owner who understands his background and is committed to helping him continue to learn, grow and adjust to life in a home environment. With the right guidance, Wesley has so much potential to become a wonderful companion.
