Yuffie a été confiée avec 4 autres podencos adultes et 12 chiots par un chasseur. Certains des chiots étaient les siens. Le groupe de podencos en général était très timide et craintif et avait clairement manqué de socialisation. Yuffie était une excellente mère et a fait un excellent travail pour élever ses chiots qui ont tous depuis trouvé leur propre foyer. Yuffie peut encore être très timide et réservée envers les étrangers jusqu'à ce qu'elle apprenne à leur faire confiance, mais auprès des bénévoles réguliers, c'est une fille joyeuse et douce qui aime les câlin, jouer avec les gens, les jouets et les autres chiens. Nous pensons qu'elle progressera le plus rapidement dans un foyer avec au moins un autre chien, mais pour un propriétaire patient, elle pourrait vivre seule. Une fois qu'elle vous connaît, elle est très heureuse de venir vers vous pour demander des câlin et est contente d'être prise dans les bras pour un câlin. Elle adore sa nourriture et c'est un excellent moyen d'aider à construire sa confiance et à gagner sa confiance, bien que son poids doive être surveillé car elle pourrait déjà perdre un peu pour être en condition optimale. Elle est vraiment une charmante jeune fille, avec un pelage profond très marqué et un museau légèrement plus sombre. Elle a été testée avec les chats et pourrait vivre dans un foyer avec des chats. Nous pensons qu'un village ou une zone plus rural serait idéal pour elle plutôt qu'une ville et elle bénéficierait également d'un jardin où elle pourrait prendre son temps pendant les premiers jours et semaines. C'est une adorable jeune fille qui a déjà montré comment elle peut apprendre à faire confiance et nous savons qu'elle s'épanouira en tant que personnalité merveilleuse dans un foyer. Yuffie sera stérilisée, vaccinée et testée négative pour toutes les maladies méditerranéennes, sauf l'ehrlichiose - comme indiqué, elle a été testée positive et reçoit un traitement pour cela, donc nous pouvons faire un nouveau test pour vérifier qu'elle est complètement nette. Yuffie was surrendered along with 4 other adult podencos and 12 puppies from a hunter. Some of the puppies were her own. The group of podencos in general were very shy and timid and had clearly lacked socialisation. Yuffie was a fantastic mum and did a great job of raising her puppies who have all since gone one to find homes of there own. Yuffie can still be very timid and shy around strangers until she learns to trust them, but around the regular volunteers she is a happy, sweet girl who enjoys a fuss and playing with people, toys and other dogs. We think she’ll progress quickest in a home with at least one other dog, but for a patient owner, could live as an only dog. Once she knows you, she is very happy to come up to you to ask for cuddles and is happy to be picked up for a fuss. She loves her food and this is a great way to help her build confidence and win her trust, although her weight will need to be watched as she could already do with losing a tiny bit in order to be in optimum condition. She really is a lovely girl, with such a striking deep coloured coat and a slightly darker muzzle. She has been cat tested and could live in a home with cats. We think a town/village or somewhere more rural would be ideal for her rather than a city and she would also really benefit from a garden where she can take it really slowly in the early days and weeks. She’s a wonderful girl who has already shown how she can learn to trust and we know she’ll blossom into a wonderful character in a home. Yuffie will be neutered, is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases excluding Ehrlichiosis - as already stated she has tested positive and is receiving treatment for this, so we can retest for the all clear.
