Rico recently arrived at the shelter, but from the very beginning it’s clear that this place frustrates him and fills him with fear. In his kennel, he nervously tears at his claws, and taking him for a walk is a real challenge for caregivers and volunteers. Rico is highly agitated by the number of dogs around him and the constant noise. He jumps, pulls on the leash, and grabs at it with his teeth. But as soon as he steps outside the shelter’s gates, everything changes completely. Rico relaxes, starts sniffing around, and pays attention to his caregiver. His muzzle softens into a gentle smile, and his tail begins to wag joyfully. On walks, he’s fairly well-behaved and doesn’t pull too hard on the leash. He reacts with tension when he encounters other dogs, but if another dog passes by calmly, he can be easily called back. For now, we’re still getting to know each other, but one thing is already certain—Rico needs to leave the shelter as soon as possible! The longer he stays here, the harder it becomes for him to calm down, and the worse he copes with his surroundings. At first, Rico reacts with suspicion, so getting to know him may take more time and require additional walks. We’re looking for a home for him without other pets and without small children—caregivers who are calm and consistent, able to provide our little dog with a sense of security and proper care.

Rico trafił do schroniska niedawno, ale już od początku widać, że to miejsce, które go frustruje i napełnia strachem. W boksie z nerwów zdziera pazurki, a wyjście na spacer to prawdziwe wyzwanie dla opiekunów i wolontariuszy. Rico jest bardzo zdenerwowany ilością otaczających go psów i wszechobecnych hałasów. Skacze, szarpie się i łapie za smycz. Ale za to po wyjściu za bramę schroniska następuje całkowita zmiana. Rico rozluźnia się, zaczyna węszyć, zwracać uwagę na opiekuna. Pysio mu się uśmiecha, a ogonek zaczyna radośnie machać. Na spacerze jest w miarę grzeczny, nie ciągnie za bardzo. Na razie jeszcze się poznajemy, ale jednego jesteśmy już pewni - Rico powinien jak najszybciej opuścić schronisko! Im dłużej tu przebywa tym trudniejsze staje się dla niego wyciszenie i coraz gorzej radzi sobie z otoczeniem. Rico na początku reaguje nieufnie, dlatego zapoznanie z nim może wymagać dłuższego czasu i większej ilości spacerów. Szukamy dla niego domu bez innych zwierząt i bez małych dzieci. Opiekunów spokojnych i konsekwentnych, którzy będą potrafili zapewnić naszemu pieskowi poczucie bezpieczeństwa i odpowiednią opiekę.
