A male German Shepherd mix named Chesterfield, previously kept in unsanitary conditions without walks by an apartment dweller in a Riga apartment building, was freed by the Riga City Municipal Police. Born in a home in Valgunde Parish, the dog was given the name Chesterfield and later passed on to another owner. However, when the dog reached the age of two, the police intervened, claiming that the elderly owner could no longer manage the energetic dog. As a result, the dog was taken to a shelter. An administrative case was initiated against the previous owner for violating animal welfare regulations, and a decision was made not to return the dog. After nearly two months in the shelter, Blanko, as the dog was named by the man who took care of him, is now available for adoption. Blanko visually resembles a German Shepherd but has a slightly calmer temperament. When he knows a walk is coming, Blanko is ready to get up with the sun and is almost uncontrollable, but within a few meters of the start of the walk, he transforms into a fine, intelligent, and balanced dog. Despite living without walks for a period of time, the shelter has seen that the dog is well-behaved. We have not observed any signs of aggression. We recommend Blanko to an active family where the dog will be a best friend, a full-fledged family member, and where they are willing to teach the handsome and charming dog. Then you will have a real golden treasure at home. In our opinion, if the parents are willing to teach the dog, they can also adopt a family with children, even without teaching - the dog will knock everyone off their feet with joy and love.

Vilkveidīgo smukuli Rīgas pilsētas pašvaldības policija atsvabināja no dzīves antisanitāros apstākļos bez pastaigām no kāda Rīgas daudzdzīvokļu nama dzīvokļa… Vispār suncis pasaulē nāca kādās mājās Valgundes pagastā, tika kristīts par Česterfildu un kā kucēns atdots tālāk, lai tad jau divu gadu vecumu sasniegušais suns, policijai iniciējot, tiktu izņemts it kā sirmgalvim (pēc Dzīvnieku glābšanas dienesta teiktā), kurš nespēja tikt ar jestro suni galā. Rezultāts – nonākšana patversmē. Pret pēdējo īpašnieku pat uzsāka administratīvo lietu par labturības noteikumu pārkāpumiem un pieņēma lēmumu suni neatgriezt. Beidzot, pēc teju divu mēnešu dzīves patversmē, Blanko – tā suni saucis vīrs – varam sākt meklēt mājas. Blanko vizuāli līdzīgs vācu aitu sunim, temperamentā tomēr drusku rāmāks. Zinot, ka dosies pastaigā, tad gan Blanko no priekiem gatavs līdz saulei uzlēkt un ir teju nevaldāms, taču pārdesmit metrus pēc pastaigas sākuma pārvēršas feinā, gudrā, nosvērtā sunī. Neskatoties uz dzīvi bez pastaigām kādā laika posmā, patversmē redzam: suns ciešas – ir kārtīgs. Agresijas izpausmes neesam manījuši. Adopcijai Blanko piedāvājam aktīvai ģimenei, kurā suns būs labākais draugs, pilntiesīgs ģimenes loceklis un kuri gatavi smukuli un jaukuli arī paskolot. Tad jūsmājās būs īsts zelta gabals. Mūsuprāt, ja vecāki suni gatavi paskolot, droši var adoptēt arī ģimenē ar bērniem, neskolojot – no priekiem un mīlestības gāzīs visus no kājām nost.
