About BonnieBonnie's story hasn't had the easiest beginning. She came into the RSPCA's care after being rescued by an inspector from terrible living conditions, alongside several other dogs. She was neglected, underweight and extremely fearful of people she didn't know. It's likely that Bonnie had never experienced life outside the home she was rescued from, so absolutely everything was new and frightening to her. With lots of love, patience and gentle encouragement, Bonnie has come on leaps and bounds. She's blossomed into a lovely girl who finally has the chance to look forward to a happy future. Bonnie is still a nervous soul when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar surroundings, so she'll need adopters who truly understand that trust takes time. She must be allowed to settle at her own pace, without pressure or being overwhelmed by too many new experiences. A quiet, calm home will be essential, with safe spaces where she can gradually build her confidence and familiarise herself with her surroundings before taking on the big wide world. But once Bonnie trusts you, you'll discover the most wonderful little character! She's happy, cheeky and full of life, especially when she's racing around and playing with her doggy friends. Beneath that initial nervousness is a loving girl with so much personality just waiting to shine. Bonnie forms incredibly strong bonds with her people and relies on them to make her feel safe and secure. In return, she'll give you a loyalty and love that is truly special. Win Bonnie's heart and you'll have a devoted companion and a little soul mate by your side. Bonnie absolutely loves other dogs, and having a confident, friendly canine companion in her new home would be hugely beneficial in helping her settle and find her paws. Bonnie has already overcome so much. Now she needs someone willing to give her the time, kindness and understanding she deserves. She may need a little longer than some to feel at home, but the love and loyalty she'll give in return will make every moment worthwhile. Bonnie will need an adult only home. Adopters will be required to attend multiple meet-and-greet sessions at the centre and will also have a session with the centre’s behaviourist before adoption. This will help ensure a smooth transition and provide guidance on how best to support her as she settles into her new home.
