Ce petit boule de fluff est notre très spéciale Carolina et elle a un vrai caractère. En août 2021, Helen l'a trouvée au bord de la route. Elle était très nerveuse et grognait envers Helen et a couru sur la route vers le cimetière. Lorsque Helen l'a retrouvée, elle était assise sur une tombe. Helen a réussi à la faire monter dans la voiture et à la mettre en sécurité. Maintenant, après tout ce temps, elle s'est vraiment détendue et maintenant elle adore les câlin de tous. Elle vit avec Evie, Buster, Fifi, Filo, Pedro et Wendy et va au champ avec eux chaque jour. Elle y va en marchant sur une laisse et le fait très bien sans tirer. Elle est une fille calme au refuge et préfère rester avec les bénévoles pour des câlins et quelques caresses plutôt que de jouer dans le champ avec d'autres chiens. Elle aime jouer avec les bénévoles tout de même et est fan du jeu de tirage. Quand elle retourne dans son enclos avec les autres, elle préfère se reposer seule sans être trop dérangée par les petits chiots dynamiques. Elle est okay avec les autres chiens mais à cause de cela, nous pensons qu'il est mieux pour elle d'être dans une maison avec un chien calme ou d'être enfant unique. Carolina a été stérilisée et, à cause de ses dents, elle est encore jeune, environ 18 mois maintenant. Elle a une condition thyroïdienne, qui n'est pas guérissable mais facile à gérer avec un médicament. Avec le médicament, elle peut vivre une vie normale et saine et elle a une espérance de vie normale. Ensemble avec le vétérinaire, nous avons trouvé une dose stable pour elle et elle aura besoin de faire contrôler ses niveaux thyroïdiens une ou deux fois par an et continuer la dose stable de médicament pendant le reste de sa vie. Ce médicament n'est pas du tout cher. Nous aimons tous Carolina et nous aimerions la voir dans un foyer chaud et confortable sur le canapé, entourée de sa propre famille. This tiny ball of fluff is our very special Carolina and she is a real personality. In august 2021 helen found her at the side of the road. She was very nervous and growling at Helen and ran across the road into the cemetery. When Helen found her again she was sitting on a grave. Helen managed to get her into the car and to safety. Now all that time later she has really come around really well and now loves a cuddle from all of us. She lives together with Evie, Buster, Fifi, Filo, Pedro and Wendy and goes to the field with them every day. She goes there by walking on a lead and does this really well without pulling. She's a calm girl at the sanctuary and rather sits with the volunteers having a cuddle and some scratches than playing in the field with other dogs. She does like to play with the volunteers though and is a fan of tug of war. When back in her pen with the others she likes to relax on her own without being bothered too much by bouncy puppies. She is okay with other dogs but because of this we think it's best for her to either be in a home with a calm dog or to be an only child. Carolina has been spayed and given by her teeth she's still a young dog, about 18 months now. She has a thyroid condition, which is not curable but is easily managed with medication. With the medication she can live a normal healthy life and she has a normal life expectancy. Together with the vet we've found a stable dose for her and she will need to have her thyroid levels re-tested once or twice a year and continue the stable dose of medication for the rest of her life. This medication is not expensive at all. We all really love Carolina and would love to see her in a warm cosy home on the sofa being cuddled by her own family.
