Adopter Daisy

Bouledogue Anglais · Femelle · Jeune · 3 ans

Traduction bientôt disponible.

Daisy came under our care via another rescue on the 5th of April and has been in a foster home since then. She is now ready to look for a home of her own. Here is lots of information from her fosterers – Daisy is a beautiful Old Tyme Bulldog with the most loving, affectionate nature. If you’re looking for a dog who simply wants to be with her people, Daisy is your girl. Whether she’s curled up on the sofa, stretched out in front of the fire, sunbathing in the garden or trying to squeeze onto your lap for a cuddle, Daisy is happiest when she’s close to her favourite humans. She has settled beautifully into foster care and has shown herself to be a sweet, gentle and funny girl with a typical Bulldog personality. She has made wonderful progress since coming into foster care and continues to grow in confidence every day. She has a wonderfully stubborn streak that will make you smile and, while she enjoys getting out for walks, she’s definitely more of a “stop and smell the roses” kind of dog than an endurance athlete! Although Daisy loves her naps and cuddles, she’s still a young Bulldog and does have her moments of youthful exuberance. She can occasionally become a little boisterous, but she responds really well to kind, consistent guidance and positive reinforcement. She walks nicely on the lead, travels well in the car and has a good foundation of training. Daisy is incredibly food motivated and really enjoys enrichment activities, which have been a fantastic way to build her confidence, reinforce routines and expectations, and keep her mentally stimulated. She responds brilliantly to kind, positive, reward-based training. Daisy is fully house trained and settles well overnight. She has been left for short periods with other dogs and copes well, although she forms strong bonds with her people and will need patience and reassurance while she settles into her new home. She isn’t comfortable being crated, so she’s looking for a home where this won’t be expected. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playing with or snuggling up to her foster brother. She has met a wide variety of dogs while in foster care and has been friendly and sociable with the vast majority of them. As with many dogs, there has been the occasional interaction where she has needed a little extra support, including one incident where an introduction didn’t go to plan. Since then, careful introductions and thoughtful management have helped her continue to enjoy positive interactions with other dogs. Daisy seems to prefer companions who are calm and confident or playful and respectful. She could happily live as an only dog, provided she has plenty of human company and opportunities to enjoy regular walks or playdates with suitable canine friends. Equally, she could live with another compatible dog following appropriate introductions. Daisy has been gentle, affectionate and calm with all the children she has met. She is confident and inquisitive around horses and cows, often watching them with interest while remaining calm and responsive. However, she does have a prey drive towards smaller animals, so she wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats or other small pets. Like any self-respecting Bulldog, Daisy is incredibly food focused! She responds brilliantly to treats during training, but she’ll also happily help herself to anything tasty that’s left within reach—so her new family will need to keep an eye on unattended snacks (a tray of eggs once disappeared!). Before being adopted, Daisy will have surgery to correct entropion, a common condition in Bulldogs where the eyelids roll inwards and irritate the eyes. This treatment is already arranged and will be completed before she goes to her forever home. Daisy is looking for a home with a secure garden, lots of love and people who will enjoy having a loyal companion by their side. She would particularly suit adopters familiar with Bulldogs or similar breeds, who understand their unique personalities and needs. She could thrive as an only dog with plenty of company or with a well-matched canine companion who enjoys sharing both playtime and nap time. Above all, Daisy is looking for a family who will cherish her for the loving, affectionate and wonderfully characterful dog she is. Daisy has so much love to give and will make an incredibly loyal companion. In return for patience, understanding and plenty of cuddles, she will reward her new family with unwavering affection, lots of laughs and a best friend who simply wants to be by your side. Anyone lucky enough to welcome Daisy into their home won’t just be adopting a dog – they’ll be gaining a devoted member of the family.
