Sa peau reste encore sensible, notamment à l'emplacement des anciennes blessures. Le cas particulier d'Heidi signifie qu'elle risque de rester à Here4Horses. L'histoire jusqu'à présent... Un appel provenant d'un membre du public a conduit un bénévole à rendre visite à un chantier de construction de Durham en avril 2018. En regardant par une clôture, elle a été horrifiée en pensant voir un cheval mort parmi les déchets - il y avait des sillons profonds dans la boue là où Heidi avait tenté de se relever depuis longtemps. Cependant, les miracles arrivent, car quelques instants plus tard, on l'a vue respirer et la bénévole ébranlée a aussitôt fait appel à l'aide. Heidi a été soulevée et dès le début, elle a montré un esprit de combat unique qui a convaincu tout le monde qu'elle devait avoir une seconde chance. Elle a été soigneusement transportée chez nous, où elle a entrepris un long et difficile chemin vers la guérison - incapable de se tenir debout sans notre aide pendant un total de 45 jours. Peering through a fence, she was horrified at what she thought was a dead horse amongst the rubbish – there were deep furrows in the mud where Heidi had been struggling to get up for what had clearly been a long time.Miracles do happen however, as moments later she was seen to be breathing and the shocked volunteer quickly made a call for assistance.Heidi was lifted to her feet and from the beginning showed a unique fighting spirit which convinced everyone that she should be given a second chance.She was carefully transported to us where she embarked upon a very long and arduous road to recovery – unable to stand without our help for a total of 45 days.
