Although Iris can be nervous, she is the more confident of the pair she currently shares her kennel with and often takes the lead when approaching new situations. Due to this strong bond, Iris will need to be rehomed with Bloom as they provide comfort to each other. Iris enjoys meeting other dogs of a similar size and has had off-lead interactions with smaller dogs, although she can be wary of larger dogs and may bark at them. Friendly, loving, and full of potential, Iris is looking for a family to open their home and hearts to her and her best friend Bloom. Iris is an 11-month-old Jack Russell Terrier looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. She is a sensitive and nervous young girl who can be wary of new people and unfamiliar situations, particularly when out on walks. However, once she feels safe and secure, Iris is affectionate and will happily seek out attention from those she trusts. She would benefit from adopters who understand nervous dogs and are willing to give her the time, space, and reassurance she needs to settle in. Iris could live with older secondary school-aged children who have experience of nervous dogs and will respect her boundaries. She will also need ongoing support and training to help improve her confidence when walking on a lead.
