Lagherta also comes from Joe, Flash, Pitu, Denny’s family... We’ve finally been able to get to know her better now that she’s been in a foster home—a crucial step for us to understand their personalities beyond the shelter. We’d like to share with you that Laguertha is currently reactive toward other dogs on the street. What does this mean? Well, she’s never had any contact with dogs outside her “family,” so new situations make her feel insecure and mistrustful. However, she has no issues at all with her fellow shelter dogs—she gets along great with them. But when she’s out on the street, on a leash, she tends to become very tense and “flamboyant.” So this is something we’ll need to work on with her. That’s why we’re looking for a responsible foster or permanent adoption for her—in a home where there’s one or more balanced, sociable dogs already. Laguertha needs to learn by imitation: observing how other dogs interact normally and gradually discovering that there’s nothing to fear. She’s a dog who deserves an opportunity, patience, and understanding. With the right environment, she’ll gain confidence and keep making progress. She’s 8 years old and is small to medium-sized (about 9 kg). At home, she behaves wonderfully: she’s fully house-trained and knows how to walk nicely on the leash. Por fin hemos podido conocerla más gracias a qué ha estado en una casa de acogida, algo fundamental para nosotros conocer el carácter de ellos fuera del refugio. Queremos contaros que Laguertha es una perra que ahora mismo es reactiva con otros perros por la calle, que quiere decir ésto... Ella nunca ha tenido contacto con perros ajenos a los que considera su familia, por lo que las situaciones nuevas le generan inseguridad y desconfianza. Sin embargo con sus compañeros del refugio no tiene problemas, pero por la calle y con correa, se pone "flamenca". Por tanto es algo que hay que trabajarle. Por eso buscamos para ella una acogida o adopción responsable en un hogar donde haya uno o varios perros equilibrados y sociables. Laguertha necesita aprender por imitación, observar que otros perros se relacionan con normalidad y descubrir poco a poco que no tiene nada que temer. Es una perra que merece una oportunidad, paciencia y comprensión. Con el entorno adecuado podrá ganar confianza y seguir avanzando. Tiene 8 añitos y de tamaño es pequeña - mediana ( unos 9kg) y en casa se porta de maravilla, controla sus necesidades y sabe pasear por la calle.
