Lovely Leon is a 5 year old lurcher boy, looking for a new home. Due to having young children, Leon's family are no longer able to give him the time and attention he needs, so have made the difficult decision to rehome him. Leon is a very chilled, well-behaved boy inside the home – he spends most of his day snoozing on the sofa! He can be left home alone for short periods, but does find this slightly stressful and would prefer to have company most of the time. He currently lives with young children and is very good with them, but would be best suited to a home with older children who could take part in his care, and where more time can be dedicated to him. Leon is very friendly with people – he can be somewhat aloof and independent at times, but does love a belly rub! Leon can be worried by unfamiliar dogs on walks, and may lunge or bark if he feels they are too close. He is easy to manage with some simple support from his handler, especially if walked in areas where he won't be approached by off-lead dogs. He can make doggie friends with the right introduction, and he definitely prefers female dogs! He walks very well on his lead, but is a big, strong dog so will need adopters able to manage him physically. Leon travels well in the car, is housetrained, and is a very good boy! Could live with older children. May be able to live with the right dog, with gradual introductions. Can be left for short periods, but would prefer company most of the time. Must have a sofa to snooze on!
