Manya arrived at our shelter from Orihiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Once upon a time, she had a home and owners, but during the evacuation, the people left, leaving behind two of their own dogs—Manya and her teenage daughter. Even the owners, who were not the original owners, asked for help. The evacuation request came from soldiers who were stationed near the house where the dogs lived. It was these soldiers who were concerned about their fate and tried to find a way to save them. The evacuation turned out to be very difficult. Manya and her daughter were scared, didn’t trust people, and twice thwarted rescue attempts. The first time, they escaped from the evacuation team. The second time, the arrival of an aircraft nearby complicated the situation. Frightened by the explosions, the dogs ran into the field, where they had lived simply under the sky—exposed to rain, snow, and wind. It was extremely difficult to catch them, but eventually, they managed to rescue both of them. Manya arrived at the animal shelter with her daughter. The daughter was very lucky—she found a family and now lives in a Ukrainian family in Spain. But Manya stayed to wait for her people. After the evacuation, it turned out that the dog had many health issues. Having lived in the cold, she suffered from severe hypothermia and cystitis. All of this was successfully treated. During the examination, it was also discovered that she had heart disease. Now Manya is receiving supportive therapy—tablets twice a day, which she happily takes with her pate. Her condition is stable, and it doesn’t hinder her from living a normal life. Manya is about 10 years old, but she doesn’t behave like a serious pensioner. She is active, curious, and always wants to be at the center of events. If something interesting is happening, new people arrive, or there’s an opportunity for mischief—Manya will be among the first. By character, she is a true little guard dog. She takes her territory protection very seriously, though it looks more comical than intimidating. At the same time, Manya is an extremely gentle and affectionate dog. She loves to approach people, rest her head on their laps, ask for attention, and enjoy every moment with a human. For Manya, we are searching for a family that will give her a peaceful and happy life. She will feel most comfortable in a private home with indoor living, where she can be with her people and receive the care she has been waiting for so long. Manya has already lost her home once. And we really hope that this will never happen again.

Маня приїхала до нас із Оріхова Запорізької області. Колись у неї був дім і господарі, але під час евакуації люди поїхали, залишивши напризволяще двох своїх собак — Маню та її доньку-підлітка. Просили про допомогу навіть не власники. Заявка на евакуацію надійшла від військових, які перебували поруч із будинком, де жили собаки. Саме вони переживали за їхню долю та намагалися знайти можливість врятувати тварин. Евакуація виявилася дуже складною. Маня та її донька були налякані, не довіряли людям і двічі зривали спроби порятунку. Першого разу вони втекли від евакуаційної команди. Другого разу ситуацію ускладнив приліт неподалік будинку. Злякавшись вибухів, собаки вибігли в поле, де довгий час жили просто неба — під дощем, снігом та вітром. Спіймати їх було надзвичайно важко, але зрештою дивом вдалося врятувати обох. До притулку Маня приїхала разом зі своєю донькою. Донечці дуже пощастило — вона знайшла родину та зараз живе в українській сім’ї в Іспанії. А Маня залишилася чекати на своїх людей. Після евакуації виявилося, що собака має чимало проблем зі здоров’ям. Через життя на холоді вона отримала сильне переохолодження та цистит. Усе це вдалося пролікувати. Під час обстеження також виявили захворювання серця. Зараз Маня отримує підтримувальну терапію — таблетки двічі на день, які із задоволенням з’їдає разом із паштетом. Її стан стабільний, і це зовсім не заважає їй жити звичайним життям. Мані близько 10 років, але вона зовсім не поводиться як поважна пенсіонерка. Вона активна, допитлива і завжди хоче бути в центрі подій. Якщо десь відбувається щось цікаве, приїхали нові люди чи з’явився привід для метушні — Маня неодмінно буде серед перших. За характером вона справжня маленька охоронниця. Дуже серйозно ставиться до захисту своєї території, хоча виглядає це більше кумедно, ніж грізно. Водночас Маня надзвичайно ніжна та ласкава собака. Вона любить підходити до людей, класти голову на коліна, просити уваги та насолоджуватися кожною хвилиною поруч із людиною. Для Мані ми шукаємо родину, яка подарує їй спокійне та щасливе життя. Найкомфортніше вона почуватиметься у приватному будинку з проживанням у домі, де зможе бути поруч зі своїми людьми та отримувати ту турботу, на яку чекала так довго. Маня вже одного разу втратила свій дім. І нам дуже хочеться, щоб більше цього ніколи не сталося.
