Maximus prospérerait dans un foyer calme et structuré sans autres animaux, petits rongeurs ou enfants. Bien qu'il puisse être laissé seul pendant quelques heures une fois installé, cela devra être progressivement introduit. Il a une histoire de gardiennage des ressources et peut être mal à l'aise avec le maniement formel, ainsi que méfiant dans les situations inconnues. Bien que certains comportements notés dans son ancien foyer n'aient pas été observés au centre, ses adoptants devront être prêts à continuer l'entraînement et la gestion, en travaillant avec l'équipe d'entraînement pour l'aider à s'installer. Maximus devra porter un collier de sécurité pour les visites vétérinaires et bénéficierait d'une approche constante et compréhensive pour qu'il se sente en sécurité et en confiance. Conditions d'adoption : Maximus est un jeune homme de 6 ans, d'énergie moyenne, plein de vie et de caractère. Il est confiant et amical lorsqu'il rencontre de nouvelles personnes, bien qu'il préfère ne pas être trop choyé ou câliné jusqu'à ce qu'il vous connaisse bien. Il peut être excitable avec d'autres chiens et, en raison de sa taille, peut sembler un peu intimidant au début, mais avec des présentations calmes, il est heureux de faire des promenades ensemble et des aventures partagées. Maximus aime jouer et possède encore beaucoup d'énergie, équilibrée par une appréciation des promenades plus lentes et remplies de reniflements. Il cherche un foyer réservé aux adultes, avec des maîtres expérimentés qui comprennent les grandes races fortes. Sa nouvelle famille devra être patiente et engagée, car il aura besoin de plusieurs rencontres, visites à domicile et d'un soutien continu de l'équipe d'entraînement. Maximus is looking for a patient, committed, adult-only home where he can continue to build his confidence and thrive. He would benefit from adopters who are happy to visit him at the centre several times to develop a strong bond before adoption and take part in home visits before he moves in. He could cope with being left for short periods once settled, but this should be introduced gradually. Maximus will need to be the only dog in the home, but he could enjoy having suitable walking companions who are comfortable with his size and enthusiastic, bouncy play style. With understanding owners who are willing to continue his training and give him the time he needs to settle, Maximus has so much love, loyalty, and fun to offer his forever family. Maximus is a handsome 6-year-old Mastiff cross with a big personality to match his size. He settles well in his kennel but is always eager to get out and explore the world, taking in every new scent along the way. As big lad, he can be strong on the lead, so he is looking for confident adopters who can continue his ongoing training and provide him with consistent guidance. Maximus is happy to have his harness put on and taken off, although he can get excited with this. While he enjoys affection, he prefers it on his own terms and has an independent nature, choosing to come over for a fuss when he feels comfortable. He is friendly with everyone he meets and loves greeting new people, often carrying a toy over to his favourite humans as a special welcome. Soft squeaky toys are by far his favourite, although he can become protective of certain toys and has shown some resource guarding. His new family will need to understand this behaviour and be confident in managing it appropriately. Maximus also finds veterinary visits quite worrying, so he wears a muzzle at the vets as a precaution to help keep everyone safe.
