10-05-26 Nonna est arrivée chez nous provenant d'un éleveur et cherche maintenant un foyer à elle seule pour toujours. C'est une petite fille très douce qui est logiquement submergée et inquiète de se retrouver ici et aura besoin de beaucoup de temps, de patience et de soins pour qu'elle puisse gagner en confiance. Nonna n'est pas habituée à être manipulée et peut être très inquiète face au contact humain au début. Cependant, une fois qu'elle est doucement soulevée, elle se calme bien et commence à se détendre. Avec des adoptants gentils et patients, elle continuera à apprendre que les gens apportent du réconfort, de la bienveillance et un sentiment de sécurité. Elle sera le plus heureuse dans une maison calme et tranquille où elle pourra s'installer à son propre rythme et se sentir en sécurité alors qu'elle commence à explorer le monde autour d'elle. Nous envisagerions un foyer avec des adolescents bienveillants et expérimentés avec les chiens qui comprennent ses anxiétés et lui donnent l'espace dont elle a besoin. Nonna tire beaucoup de confort de la compagnie d'autres chiens et compte sur eux pour se rassurer, donc elle aura besoin d'un autre chien aimant et confiant résidant dans sa nouvelle maison pour la prendre sous son aile et lui montrer le chemin. Étant donné que Nonna n'a jamais vécu dans un foyer auparavant, elle devra tout apprendre depuis le début. Cela inclura l'entraînement à la propreté, l'apprentissage à marcher avec une laisse et un harnais, et s'habituer aux bruits et aux choses quotidiennes. Avec de la patience, de l'amour et des encouragements, Nonna a tout le potentiel pour devenir un compagnon joyeux et affectueux. Nonna présente une hernie inguinale qui sera réparée lorsqu'elle sera stérilisée. Elle présente également quelques zones de alopecie hormonale, qui devraient normalement repousser avec le temps. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Nonna came to us from a breeder and was understandably overwhelmed and worried to find herself here at first. Having never lived in a home before and with very little experience of handling, she initially found human interaction quite worrying. Although she was nervous of being picked up, once gently handled she would relax and settle nicely, showing us the sweet and gentle nature hidden beneath her worries. Nonna has now moved into a foster home, where she is making lovely progress. Her fosterer describes her as having the sweetest nature imaginable - quiet, gentle and incredibly easy to care for. She takes great comfort from the company of other dogs and enjoys sharing beds with them. Because of this, she will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her forever home to help guide her and give her confidence. She has adapted well to home life and her house training is now almost perfect, happily going outside when the door is open and enjoying a gentle trot around the garden. She is starting to relax and enjoy a cuddle. Nonna loves her food and enjoys treats too, although she is not quite ready to take them directly from your hand just yet. She doesn't yet walk on a lead and harness and this is something she will need to practice around the home and garden until she is feeling brave enough to venture further. Nonna will still need patient and understanding adopters who can continue introducing her to the world at her own pace and would be happiest in a calm and quiet home. We would consider homing her with dog savvy older teenagers. With the progress she has already made and her wonderfully gentle temperament, Nonna is a very special little girl who is sure to make a wonderful companion. Her foster carer says she is one of the easiest fosters they have ever cared for and that whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will be getting a truly lovely dog. Nonna has some areas of hormonal alopecia, which are already starting to show signs of starting to re-grow. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
