If you’re looking for a young dog with lots of potential and are happy to help her grow in confidence, River could be a wonderful addition to your family. Once she knows you, she is a loving girl who enjoys affection, playing with her toys and simply being near her people. She is house-trained, settles really well at home and will happily take herself off to her crate for a daytime nap or at bedtime. River travels calmly in the car and has shown she can settle independently when her foster carer moves away from her around the home. Once fully settled into her new home, she could gradually build up to being left for around two to four hours. River will need adopters who are understanding of her initial nerves, particularly around meeting unfamiliar people and during vet visits. Gentle introductions, positive experiences and some happy vet visits will help her feel more comfortable as her confidence grows. With time, patience and plenty of reassurance, River has all the makings of a loyal, affectionate and fun best friend. River is a sweet and affectionate 7-month-old Cane Corso cross who is looking for a patient home where she can continue building her confidence. She can be a little unsure around new people and unfamiliar situations at first, but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality really starts to shine. River enjoys being close to her foster carer, regularly seeking out affection and settling beside them around the house. She also loves playing with her toys and ball, and is quite happy entertaining herself too. River enjoys her walks and walks nicely on lead without pulling. She can be slightly wary when exploring somewhere new, but tends to settle quickly and enjoys getting out and about. She is also very interested in other dogs and has shown that she is keen to greet and play with them, so she could potentially live with another dog who has a similar playstyle. A quieter home with patient adopters would suit River best, where introductions to new people and experiences can be taken at her pace. Due to her nervous nature, she would be best suited to a home with secondary school-aged children. River cannot live with cats or small furry animals.
