Yorkshire terrier 10 years old Dearest Tilly has had a really tough time of it recently, in case anybody missed our initial post about her, she arrived with us as a stray after having been found covered in blood and taken to a local vet. After being cleaned up it was discovered that she had multiple puncture wounds around her throat, neck, shoulders and legs. It is believed that poor Tilly had been attacked by another animal, most likely by a larger dog. Since then, Tilly’s recovery has been slow and very up-and-down, she has suffered severe breathing episodes and an awful cough. After having multiple x-rays and different courses of treatment we are pleased to say Tilly has finally settled and is most definitely on the road to recovery although it’s likely that she will need to stay on medication indefinitely to ensure a good quality of life. Further exploration procedures could be very detrimental to her recovery at this stage so we have decided to stick with this plan going forward.
