Typhus is the biggest softie. He is an independent lad and when you meet him for the first time, he may come across as a bit aloof. Give Typhus a few minutes to sniff the environment he is in and then when he is ready, he will trot on over to get to know you. He will have a gentle fuss under his chin and on his chest. His real affectionate side can be shy for the people he trusts. With his people he adores a fuss and attention. Typhus loves to have a good sniff and explore on the moors or plod about in an enclosed field. He would benefit from having friendly, calm dogs as walking buddies, he hasn’t met many dogs when out and about previously so would benefit from building up his ‘friends list’ gradually. His favourite toys are rope toys and he’ll have a game of tuggy with you and chase games. Typhus enjoys his food and treats, he has a food allergy, but he is good with beef and beef treats, he knows a sit, wait, paw, spin, leave, and down. Typhus is a seven-year-old Shar Pei looking for a loving home with adopters who will give him the patience and time he needs to settle in and find his paws in his new home. He is looking to be the only dog and home without cats or small furries. Care may be needed around livestock. Typhus is housetrained and he is happy to travel in the boot of the car. He has history of being okay when alone at home for a few hours at a time; it is best to build this up gradually in a new environment. He is fine with visitors to the home and could cope with a quiet or reasonably busy household. Typhus is used to rural and quiet walkies and would love a home where he can continue with these types of walks. He becomes overwhelmed in towns, and public places would need time and gradual exposure.
