Health status: exhibits compulsive and self-aggressive behaviors; takes psychotropic medications.Upsi is a dog of the long-haired German Shepherd type. At the shelter, he quickly revealed himself as a highly stressed dog. He becomes stressed and stimulated by numerous stimuli (work on this is ongoing), and when emotions build up significantly, he unfortunately displays self-aggressive behaviors and stereotypies—such as spinning in circles and biting his own tail. For this reason, he takes psychotropic medications, which, combined with behavioral therapy, have helped significantly reduce the frequency of these behaviors.Upsi reacts very negatively to other animals, especially dogs. He also has trouble with street traffic, often trying to chase cars. Therefore, he should live in a quiet area—where there aren't many dogs nearby and traffic is light. He’s looking for a home with a garden and close proximity to green spaces such as forests and fields.Upsi is seeking a home where he can be a full-fledged member of the family; he needs close human contact. Away from stressors, walks with Upsi are very enjoyable—he walks on a loose leash and eagerly seeks interaction with his handler. He really loves bathing in bodies of water, rolling around in sand, and gnawing on natural chew toys. He knows basic commands.It is recommended that, after adoption, further work with Upsi be conducted under the supervision of a behaviorist. He shouldn’t live with small children—he needs a stable and predictable environment. He requires a significant amount of time to build a bond with his caregiver, but once he warms up to someone, he allows grooming procedures, craves affection, and enjoys lying right next to his human.Upsi is looking for a home:—in a quiet neighborhood (where there aren't many dogs and heavy street traffic),—with a predictable routine, ideally with a small number of household members,—without other pets,—without children,—and ready to cooperate with a behaviorist.

W związku z tym powinien zamieszkać w spokojnej okolicy – gdzie nie ma wielu psów w okolicy, a natężenie ruchu jest niewielkie. Wymaga poświęcenia większej ilości czasu, żeby zbudować relację z opiekunem, ale gdy się do kogoś przekona, to pozwala na zabiegi pielęgnacyjne, domaga się czułości i lubi leżeć tuż obok człowieka. Upsi szuka domu: – w spokojnej okolicy (gdzie nie ma dużo psów i dużego natężenia ruchu ulicznego), – z przewidywalną rutyną, najlepiej z niewielką liczbą domowników, – bez innych zwierząt, – bez dzieci, – gotowego na współpracę z behawiorystą.
