We don’t have favourites here… but if we did, Valerie would definitely be one of them! Valerie is a sweet and sensitive girl who is looking for a patient family willing to give her the time she needs to build trust. While she can be shy at first, once she feels safe and comfortable, her playful, goofy personality really begins to shine. She also loves a gentle fuss from the people she knows best. She loves her treats and will play with toys sometimes, when she does, she enjoys chucking them into the air and zooming around with them in her mouth. Valerie takes a lot of confidence from other dogs and may benefit from living with others, but she can be a little over the top when she plays, she’s vocal and can be playfully mouthy so any resident dog would need to be comfortable with that style of play. Any potential dogs in the home would need to have a meet or potentially multiple meets on site/ offsite with her to make sure they got on. She could also be happy as the only dog in the home. Due to her prey drive, Valerie cannot live with cats or small animals. Valerie will need a secure garden, as she may not feel ready for walks until she has fully settled into her new home and would still like a place to zoom. Her ideal home would be in a quieter, more rural area where she can enjoy peaceful walks away from busy crowds and noise. However, she can be travelled in a car if she needs to access quiet walks this way. We feel Valerie would thrive with a family who understand anxious dogs and are happy to let her move at her own pace. She could live with older children who understand when she may need space and patience. For the right home, Valerie will be an incredibly rewarding companion. She is a gentle, loving soul with so much love and personality waiting to give to the family that gives her that chance.
