Sweet Winona was found left to die after being ran over on the road with her friend. Sadly, her friend passed away, and Winona ended up with two broken front legs, her lungs collapsed, but with lots of strength and a determination to live. After two weeks and two big operations, we could welcome Winona in our shelter. She arrived to us with big mammary tits, even though she is still very young, and when she first arrived to the emergency hospital, she still had milk in her tits, meaning the poor girl had even just still had babies. What a hard start to a young life. As soon as she started to recover in the hospital, it because clear to everyone that she is extremely, undeniably sweet with all the humans that she meets, just a little bit shy with tall men, but as soon as she sees you mean no harm, she will never let you stop stroking and caressing her. Her absolute favourite thing in the world, is to be touched, caressed and taken care of. The more hands that she could have on her at all times, the better. She is still a very young girl herself, and we really hope that she will find a home where she can still have a bit of puppyhood, after all the difficult times she has been through. One thing that is good that this happened to her while still very young, is that her bones are very well and quickly recovering. She rests a lot and her check-ups have been great! So far, Winona has shown to be very open, tolerant and social, specially with women, she is real a cuddle bug! With other dogs she shows a very playful and open nature, and she wishes she could run and play for hours! Of course, she is still recovering and we need to stop her playing sometimes, otherwise she would jump around like a young sheep. Her best friend in the shelter is a little lively and social Podenco girl Chilifox, with who they always go walking together and you can often find them snuggling and kissing each other. For Winona we are looking for a home with space/yard, in a nice calm area, so she can enjoy a calm life, with one or more other dogs. She hasn't lived directly with other dogs, so we have to see how she manages sharing food and space, so that’s something to still discover. Her shoulder height is approximately 60cm.
