A Laika chegou ao abrigo juntamente com a sua irmã, trazida por pessoas que não esterilizaram os seus cães. A Laika é uma cachorra muito meiga e amigável, habituada ao contacto com as pessoas e muito brincalhona. Já passeia à trela. Vai ser entregue vacinada, desparasitada, esterilizada e com microchip.
