Meggie egy közepes méretű keresztkorona, kb. három éves. Meggie 2022 októberében Boszniai szállította másik mentőállomásról a Nagy-Britanniába. Meggie testvérei voltak, mind féltékenyek voltak, de Meggie volt a legfélelmetesebb, és soha nem jött ki a szekrény végéből az átmeneti otthonában. Sokszor dolgoztunk ezzel a mentőállomással, és kértek tőlünk segítséget. Nagyon hosszú időt vett igénybe, de most már készen áll arra, hogy megtalálja a saját otthonát. Még mindig bizalmatlan a külsősökkel, és valószínűleg nem fog megmutatkozni, amikor a jövendő új gazdái meglátogatják, de ha valaki csak adna neki esélyt, akkor egyszerűen „normális” lesz, amint megismerteti magát mindenki velük. Az átmeneti otthonban nagyon játszadozó és szeretetteljes. Jól sétál vezetéken, de új helyeken és helyzetekben kissé ugrásos lehet. De továbbra is nő a bizalmában, és hiszünk benne, hogy az egy-egy órás időtartam, amit kapni fog a végleges otthonában, elvész majd idővel a feszültsége. Meggie-nek egy másik állandó családi kutyának kell lennie a végleges otthonában; egyedül nem tudna kibékülni. Szüksége van egy felnőtt környezetre, amely nem túl zavaros. Amikor megnyugszik, gyönyörű karaktere van, és valakinek nagyon lojális és szeretetteljes családi tagot nyújt egy kis barátság és türelemmel. Meggie-t Mattishall, Norfolk-i átmeneti otthonban nevelték. Ha érdekel, írjon vagy hívja 9:00 - 17:00 között hétfőtől péntekig, vagy 9:00 - 16:00 között szombaton. A fogadási díjak 2025. december 1-jétől: Kutyák már sterilizáltak és minden felnőtt kutya: 430 font. Nem sterilizált kutyák spay/neuter szerződésekkel: 530 font (100 font visszatérítést kap, ha elküldjük a sterilizálás bizonyítékát). Idős kutyák (10+ év): 150–250 font (az életkor és az egyéni igényektől függően). Fogadási politika: Amikor egy Safe Rescue kutya fogadásával fogad, kötelező használni egy csúszóvezetéket. Ez biztosítja a kutyája biztonságát: az új kutyája félénk, nem fogja megbízni önt, és nem tudhatja, milyen helyzetek izgathatják fel a kutyáját. Ha a kutyája pánikba esik, akkor a csúszóvezető az egyetlen módja annak, hogy megakadályozza a kutyája menekülését (sok kutya el tud menekülni egy nyaköv vagy mellény alól). Legalább 3-6 hónapra van szükség, hogy a kutya megnyugszon, és Ön teljesen ismerje a kutyáját (hosszabb ideig tart a félénkebb kutyák esetén). A csúszóvezetőt mindenképpen használni kell ezen a megnyugvási időszak alatt. Még akkor is, ha a kutya megnyugodott, biztonságosabb használni a csúszóvezetőt olyan helyzetekben, ahol a kutya félni tud (pl. új helyek látogatása, ismeretlen emberek körében, a háziorvossal), illetve olyan helyzetekben, ahol váratlan trigger események történhetnek (pl. tűzijáték estéjén). A félénk kutyák mindig viselhetik a csúszóvezetőt mint biztonsági másodlagos intézkedést. A csúszóvezető egy biztonsági eszköz, és soha nem kell használni képzési célra. A vezetőt a kutya nyakára gyakorolt nyomás káros. Ha a kutya húzza a vezetőt, akkor tanácsot adhatunk olyan edzési módszerekről, amelyek nem okoznak kárt. Amikor a kutya megnyugszik, érdemes szóba kerülni a mellény használatát (együtt a csúszóvezetővel), ha a kutya kényelmesen kezelhető, amikor a mellény a helyén van. A legtöbb mellény nem elkerülhető, de a bordák mögötti övvel rendelkező mellények (pl. Ruffwear Webmaster vagy Perfect Fit mellények) biztosabbak. A kiterjedt / kiterjeszthető vezetőket soha nem szabad a mi kutyáinkkal használni. Fogadott kutyákat egyenesen a mentőállomásról kell begyűjteni és egy kisteherautóban hazaszállítani. A kerítések és kapuk legalább 5 láb magasak, és biztosítottak. Minden kutya vakcinázott, mikrochippelt és sterilizált (kivéve a még nem sterilizálható kutyákat). Meggie is a medium sized crossbreed aged around three years old. Meggie was brought to the UK from Bosnia back in October 2022 by another rescuer. She came with her siblings, all were scared but Meggie was the most afraid and never came out from the back of a crate in her foster home. We have worked with the rescue many times and they asked if we could help her. It’s taken a very long time but Meggie is only now ready to find her own home. She is still wary of strangers and unlikely to show herself well when potential adopters come to see her, but actually if someone could just give her a chance she’s very “normal” once she’s settled and gotten to know everyone. In her foster home she is very playful and affectionate. She walks nicely on a lead but can be a bit jumpy in new places and situations. She continues to grow in confidence though and we believe that with the one to one time she will receive in her forever home all of her nervousness will go over time. Meggie will need another permanent resident dog in her forever home, she simply wouldn’t cope as an only dog. She will need an adult home environment that’s not too hectic. She has a lovely character once relaxed and will make someone a very loyal and loving family addition with a little kindness and patience. Meggie fostered Mattishall, Norfolk. Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
