PomPom egy utcai oszlophoz kötve találták, amely a menhelyhez vezetett, éjszaka sötétben, a kocsiúton. Egy önkéntes találta meg, aki korán érkezett dolgozni, még sötétben, és majdnem beütközött PomPomban, mert hirtelen megjelent a szűk úton. Még mindig viselte a nyakörvét, de nem volt víz, és nem tudott elmozdulni, megfelelően lekötve. PomPomnak mikrochipje volt, amely Belgiumból származott, és bár a chip nem regisztrált itt Andalucia-ban, így normálisan nem tudnánk megtalálni a tulajdonost, mélyebbre kutattunk, kapcsolatot vettünk Belgiumba, és megszereztem a tulajdonos adatait, remélve, hogy egyszerűen elveszett, és talán a családja van Marbella ünneplésre. A regisztrált neve BoumBoum volt. Sajnos a tulajdonos válaszolt: "Köszönöm az információt, de tartsátok meg őt". Így PomPom elhagyott, elutasított otthonából, az ismert életéből. Az információink szerint korábban egy férfival és egy nővel élt. PomPom egy kövér fiú, kissé túlsúlyos, ezért jelenleg egy kicsit erős a kutyaszorítón, bár jól tud viselkedni a szorítón. Éppen most szakított el mindenktől, amit ismert, ezért most kissé bizalmatlan a új emberekkel szemben, és nem érzi jól magát azokkal, akik nem tudják olvasni a kutyák testnyelvét, vagy akik közvetlenül kezdenek hozzá érinteni a kutyát. PomPom szereti azokat az embereket, akik adnak neki időt, hogy megismerjen, megnyugodjon az Ön jelenlétében, majd ajánljon neki egy jó hátsó karcolást. Adj hozzá egy kis csirkefogaskapcsolatot, és a barátság megerősödik. Jelenleg egy kis időbe kerül, hogy kötődjön egy emberhez, továbbra is a utcára néz, ahol kötve volt, és ahol valószínűleg látta a gépkocsiját, amely elment vele. Tudjuk azonban, hogy PomPom egy „normális” otthoni környezetből jöhet, tehát valószínűleg gyorsan újra otthon érezheti magát. Jelenleg egyedülálló kutyaként keresünk otthont PomPomnak, de nyugodt, társas nőkkel való kérdezősködést is figyelembe vesszük és tesztelhetjük. Mivel nem ismerjük pontosan a háttérét, jelenleg nem helyezzük újra családokhoz, akik kisgyermekeket is tartanak. Mivel PomPom magával hordja a szívverését, kutyaszerető emberekre van szüksége, akik képesek megérteni a kommunikációját és az érzéseinek kifejezését, határait és igényeit. PomPom was left tied to a street post leading up to the shelter, in the middle of the night in the dark, on the car road. He was found by a volunteer who arrived to work very early in the morning, still in the dark, and almost drove into PomPom, because he suddenly was standing at the narrow road. He was still wearing his harness, but had no water, and could not leave, he was tied properly. PomPom had a microchip originating from Belgium, and even though the chip is not registrated here in Andalucia, so normally we would not be able to see the owner, we dug deeper, reached out to Belgium, and got the owner's details, hoping that he simply was lost, and maybe his family is in Marbella for holidays. His registrated name was BoumBoum. Sadly, the owner responded to us with "Thanks for the info, but you can keep him". So PomPom has been abandoned, rejected by his home, his life that he knows. From the info we have, he has been living with a man and a woman before. PomPom is a chunky boy, slightly overweight, and therefore at the moment a bit strong on the leash, though he knows very well how to walk on the leash politely. Having just recently been ripped away from all he knew before, he is at the moment a bit skeptical when it comes to new people, and doesn't feel comfortable with people who cannot read a dog's body language, or people who do not respect private space, and directly start to touch a dog all over. PomPom likes people who give him a moment to check you out, to relax in your presence, and then offer him a good butt scratch. Add some chicken to the story, and the friendship is sealed. It takes him a moment to form a bond with a human at the moment, he is still looking towards the direction of the street where he was tied up, and where he most likely saw the car of his human leaving him last. However, we know that PomPom is coming from a "normal" home environment, meaning that he would most likely very quickly settle back into home life again. At the moment we are looking for a home as a single dog for PomPom, however inquiries with a calm social female can also be considered and tested. Not knowing his background exactly, we will for the time being not rehome him to families with small children. As PomPom does come with his luggage of heartbrake, he is looking for dog-experienced humans, who will be able to understand his communication and his expression of feelings, boundaries, needs. For adoption in Spain, a PPP registration would be needed, which the shelter can help with. PomPom is also available for international adoption. His shoulder height is 63cm.
