PomPom è stato lasciato legato a un palo della strada che portava al rifugio, nel bel mezzo della notte al buio, sulla strada per auto. È stato trovato da un volontario che arrivò al lavoro molto presto la mattina, ancora al buio, e quasi investì PomPom, perché all'improvviso era in piedi sulla strada stretta. Indossava ancora il guinzaglio, ma non aveva acqua e non poteva andarsene, era legato correttamente. PomPom aveva un microchip originario dalla Belgio, e anche se il chip non è registrato qui in Andalusia, di solito non potremmo vedere il proprietario, abbiamo approfondito, contattato il Belgio e ottenuto i dettagli del proprietario, sperando che semplicemente fosse smarrito e forse la sua famiglia era in vacanza a Marbella. Il suo nome registrato era BoumBoum. Purtroppo il proprietario ci ha risposto con "Grazie per le informazioni, ma potete tenerlo". Quindi PomPom è stato abbandonato, rifiutato dalla sua casa, dalla sua vita che conosceva. Dalle informazioni che abbiamo, ha vissuto con un uomo e una donna prima. PomPom è un ragazzo robusto, leggermente sovrappeso, e quindi al momento un po' forte sul guinzaglio, pur sapendo bene come camminare in modo educato sul guinzaglio. Avendo appena perso tutto ciò che conosceva, al momento è un po' scettico verso le persone nuove, e non si sente a suo agio con le persone che non sanno leggere il linguaggio corporeo di un cane o che non rispettano lo spazio privato e cominciano subito a toccare il cane ovunque. PomPom ama le persone che gli danno un momento per guardarti, per rilassarsi nella tua presenza, e poi offrirgli un bel grattino sul sedere. Aggiungi un po' di pollo alla storia e l'amicizia è sigillata. Ci vuole un momento per formare un legame con un essere umano al momento, sta ancora guardando nella direzione della strada dove era legato, e dove probabilmente ha visto l'auto del suo padrone che lo lasciava lì per l'ultima volta. Tuttavia sappiamo che PomPom proviene da un ambiente domestico "normale", il che significa che probabilmente si adatterà rapidamente di nuovo alla vita in casa. Al momento stiamo cercando una casa per PomPom come cane unico, tuttavia le richieste con una femmina calma e sociale possono essere considerate e testate. Non conoscendo esattamente il suo background, per il momento non lo riconsegneremo a famiglie con bambini piccoli. Poiché PomPom arriva con il suo bagaglio di problemi cardiaci, cerca persone esperte con cani, che possano comprendere la sua comunicazione e l'espressione dei suoi sentimenti, limiti, bisogni. PomPom was left tied to a street post leading up to the shelter, in the middle of the night in the dark, on the car road. He was found by a volunteer who arrived to work very early in the morning, still in the dark, and almost drove into PomPom, because he suddenly was standing at the narrow road. He was still wearing his harness, but had no water, and could not leave, he was tied properly. PomPom had a microchip originating from Belgium, and even though the chip is not registrated here in Andalucia, so normally we would not be able to see the owner, we dug deeper, reached out to Belgium, and got the owner's details, hoping that he simply was lost, and maybe his family is in Marbella for holidays. His registrated name was BoumBoum. Sadly, the owner responded to us with "Thanks for the info, but you can keep him". So PomPom has been abandoned, rejected by his home, his life that he knows. From the info we have, he has been living with a man and a woman before. PomPom is a chunky boy, slightly overweight, and therefore at the moment a bit strong on the leash, though he knows very well how to walk on the leash politely. Having just recently been ripped away from all he knew before, he is at the moment a bit skeptical when it comes to new people, and doesn't feel comfortable with people who cannot read a dog's body language, or people who do not respect private space, and directly start to touch a dog all over. PomPom likes people who give him a moment to check you out, to relax in your presence, and then offer him a good butt scratch. Add some chicken to the story, and the friendship is sealed. It takes him a moment to form a bond with a human at the moment, he is still looking towards the direction of the street where he was tied up, and where he most likely saw the car of his human leaving him last. However, we know that PomPom is coming from a "normal" home environment, meaning that he would most likely very quickly settle back into home life again. At the moment we are looking for a home as a single dog for PomPom, however inquiries with a calm social female can also be considered and tested. Not knowing his background exactly, we will for the time being not rehome him to families with small children. As PomPom does come with his luggage of heartbrake, he is looking for dog-experienced humans, who will be able to understand his communication and his expression of feelings, boundaries, needs. For adoption in Spain, a PPP registration would be needed, which the shelter can help with. PomPom is also available for international adoption. His shoulder height is 63cm.
