Bambi è un pony Carneddau Welsh Mountain, nato nella primavera 2010. È arrivato a Shy Lowen nel 2010 come un tenero e piccolo puledro e gli è stato dato il suo inadatto nome dalla Commissione di Assistenza di Shy Lowen! Bambi era uno dei gruppo di pony Carneddau Welsh Mountain salvati da Shy Lowen tra dicembre 2009 e dicembre 2010. Erano parte di un raduno di pony maschi selvaggi portati giù dalle montagne per controllare la popolazione. Sono stati mandati all'asta, ma non sono stati acquistati, quindi dovevano essere venduti per la carne o soppressi. Shy Lowen si è intromessa e ha trovato case per 77 dei pony. I pony avevano età diverse, non erano sterilizzati e molti erano in cattive condizioni. Poiché tutti erano completamente inesperti e indomabili, è occorso molto tempo per guadagnare la loro fiducia e ripristinare la loro salute. Bambi all'inizio era un po' un terrore quando è stato domato e ha dato alcuni morsi brutti a chi si avvicinava a lui nella stalla o nel recinto. Ora è cresciuto un po' ed è diventato molto più amichevole e facile da gestire, ma rimane molto vivace e scherzoso. Spesso scherziamo dicendo che ha "sindrome del piccolo uomo"! Ha iniziato l'addestramento quando ha raggiunto un'età adeguata ed è stato sellato con il suo primo cavaliere in primavera 2013. Ora è arrivato a un punto in cui può camminare, andare al trotto e al galoppo con un cavaliere, ma ha bisogno di ulteriore addestramento. Bambi ha bisogno di una casa divertente con una famiglia esperta e un piccolo ma sicuro fantino disposto a lavorare insieme per sviluppare al massimo le sue potenzialità come pony da equitazione/club/cavallo da gioco. Bambi is a Carneddau Welsh Mountain pony, born in spring 2010. He came to Shy Lowen in 2010 as a very cute and tiny colt and was given his ill-suited name by the Shy Lowen Care Committee! Bambi was one of a group of Carneddau Welsh Mountain ponies rescued by Shy Lowen between December 2009 and December 2010. They were part of a round-up of wild male ponies brought down from the mountains in order to control the population. They were sent to auction, but no buyers were found, so they were either to be sold for meat, or put to sleep. Shy Lowen stepped in and found homes for 77 of the ponies. The ponies varied in age, had not been gelded and many were in poor condition. As they were all completely unhandled and untamed, it took many months to gain their trust and restore them to full health. Bambi was initially a little terror when he was first tamed and gave a few nasty bites to those who approached him in his stable or paddock. He has now grown up a little and become much friendlier and easier to handle, but remains very naughty and cheeky. We often joke that he has ‘small man syndrome’! He began training when he reached an appropriate age and was backed with his first rider in spring 2013. He has now been brought on to a stage where he can walk, trot and canter with a rider, but needs further schooling. Bambi needs a fun home with an experienced family and small but confident jockey who are willing to work together to bring him on and reach his potential as a riding/pony club/gamespony.He is also available for homing as a companion.
