Bambi est un poney de montagne galloise Carneddau, né au printemps 2010. Il est venu à Shy Lowen en 2010 en tant que poulain très mignon et petit et a reçu son nom peu adapté par le comité de soins de Shy Lowen ! Bambi faisait partie d'un groupe de poneys de montagne galloise Carneddau sauvés par Shy Lowen entre décembre 2009 et décembre 2010. Ils faisaient partie d'une opération de ramassage de poneys males sauvages amenés des montagnes afin de contrôler la population. Ils ont été envoyés aux enchères, mais aucun acheteur n'a été trouvé, donc ils devaient être vendus pour la viande ou euthanasiés. Shy Lowen est intervenue et a trouvé des foyers pour 77 de ces poneys. Les poneys avaient des âges variés, n'avaient pas été castrés et beaucoup étaient dans un mauvais état. Comme ils étaient tous complètement inapprivoés et sauvages, il a fallu plusieurs mois pour gagner leur confiance et les remettre en bonne santé. Bambi était initialement un peu effrayant lorsqu'on l'a apprivoisé et a donné quelques morsures désagréables à ceux qui s'approchaient de lui dans son box ou son paddock. Il a maintenant grandi un peu et est devenu bien plus sympathique et facile à manipuler, mais reste très malin et insolent. Nous plaisantons souvent en disant qu'il souffre du « syndrome du petit homme » ! Il a commencé à être entraîné lorsqu'il a atteint un âge approprié et a été monté pour la première fois au printemps 2013. Il peut maintenant marcher, trotter et galoper avec un cavalier, mais a besoin d'une formation supplémentaire. Bambi a besoin d'un foyer amusant avec une famille expérimentée et un jeune jockey petit mais confiant qui sont prêts à travailler ensemble pour le former et atteindre son potentiel en tant que poney de club de chevaux/jeux. Il est également disponible pour adoption en tant que compagnon.

Bambi is a Carneddau Welsh Mountain pony, born in spring 2010. He came to Shy Lowen in 2010 as a very cute and tiny colt and was given his ill-suited name by the Shy Lowen Care Committee! Bambi was one of a group of Carneddau Welsh Mountain ponies rescued by Shy Lowen between December 2009 and December 2010. They were part of a round-up of wild male ponies brought down from the mountains in order to control the population. They were sent to auction, but no buyers were found, so they were either to be sold for meat, or put to sleep. Shy Lowen stepped in and found homes for 77 of the ponies. The ponies varied in age, had not been gelded and many were in poor condition. As they were all completely unhandled and untamed, it took many months to gain their trust and restore them to full health. Bambi was initially a little terror when he was first tamed and gave a few nasty bites to those who approached him in his stable or paddock. He has now grown up a little and become much friendlier and easier to handle, but remains very naughty and cheeky. We often joke that he has ‘small man syndrome’! He began training when he reached an appropriate age and was backed with his first rider in spring 2013. He has now been brought on to a stage where he can walk, trot and canter with a rider, but needs further schooling. Bambi needs a fun home with an experienced family and small but confident jockey who are willing to work together to bring him on and reach his potential as a riding/pony club/gamespony.He is also available for homing as a companion.
