Adottare Barney
Collie · Maschio · Giovane · 1 anno
Meet Barney, our handsome Collie cross! Sweet Barney certainly lives up to his Collie heritage! He is a friendly and affectionate boy who loves getting to know people and playing with his favourite toys. He is an energetic and intelligent lad who will need plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep his busy brain occupied. Barney is looking for owners with experience of Collies or similar working breeds, or those who have done plenty of research into their needs and typical behaviours. He can show stalking and chasing behaviours towards other dogs, as well as some sexual behaviours, so he will need to be the only dog in the home. He can still enjoy suitable doggy friends on walks, but his new owners will need to manage these interactions carefully. Due to his history of chasing cats, he cannot live with them. Barney has struggled with being left alone, showing vocal and destructive behaviours when separated from his owner. He will need a home where someone is around for most of the day, with any time alone built up very gradually. Experience with separation anxiety would be particularly beneficial, and a home where responsibilities can be shared between multiple carers would be ideal. Barney can live with experienced teenagers aged 13+ and will need his own private garden for exercise, training and a little refresher on his housetraining. Barney is a lovely boy with lots of enthusiasm and potential, looking for an active and committed home that understands his Collie traits and can help him thrive.
