Cuba è un ragazzo molto sensibile e timido che trova ancora il mondo abbastanza soffocante, ma che sta facendo ottimi progressi mentre la sua fiducia cresce lentamente. Cuba è arrivato con pochissima esperienza di vita e può essere facilmente preoccupato dalle nuove situazioni, quindi ha bisogno di un approccio calmo e dolce e di tanto tempo per costruire fiducia. Man mano che conosce le persone, Cuba diventa sempre più socievole. Potrebbe aver bisogno di alcune riunioni per sentirsi a suo agio, ma una volta che si fida di te, ti si avvicinerà felicemente con la coda che scodinzola e apprezzerà attenzioni tranquille e delicate. Adora rilassarsi nel suo letto con compagnia fidata vicino e trova le carezze calme molto rassicuranti, spesso addormentandosi mentre viene dolcemente accarezzato. Man mano che la sua fiducia cresce, il lato giocoso inizia a brillare. Adora giocare con i giocattoli, abbracciare, dare baci e sarà felice di saltellare come un pazzo quando si sente sicuro ed entusiasta. Cuba non ha mai vissuto in casa prima, quindi tutto sarà nuovo per lui. Avrà bisogno di adottatori esperti e adulti che comprendano i cani nervosi e siano contenti di lasciarlo ambientarsi al suo ritmo. Sarà necessario un guida paziente mentre impara tutto sulle cose di casa, compresa la pulizia in casa e l'abitudine a indossare la cingia e la guida. Sta recentemente iniziando l'addestramento alla cingia e sta cominciando a goderselo, ma questo dovrà continuare lentamente e positivamente, iniziando con esercizi dolci nel giardino. Una volta fuori, Cuba gode di osservare il mondo al suo ritmo e ama annusare tutto ciò che vede durante le sue passeggiate. Con dolcezza, pazienza e il giusto supporto, ha il potenziale per continuare a svilupparsi in un compagno veramente gratificante. Cuba è attualmente in trattamento per congiuntivite bilaterale e ha anche avuto una riparazione dell'entropion bilaterale.

Cuba is a very sensitive and shy boy who is still finding the world quite overwhelming, but who is making lovely progress as his confidence slowly grows. Cuba arrived with very little life experience and can be easily worried by new situations, so he needs a calm, gentle approach and plenty of time to build trust. As he gets to know people, Cuba is becoming increasingly sociable. He may need a couple of meetings to feel comfortable, but once he trusts you, he will happily approach with his tail wagging and enjoy quiet, gentle fuss. He particularly loves relaxing in his bed with trusted company nearby and finds calm strokes very reassuring, often drifting off to sleep while being gently fussed. Recently, he has started to open up his trust circle and has accepted a few new recruits. This is a big step for a worried boy like, Cuba and we are so proud of him! As his confidence grows, his playful side is beginning to shine. He adores playing with toys, cuddling, giving kisses, and will happily bounce around like a lunatic when he’s feeling safe and excited. Cuba has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to him. He will need experienced, adult-only adopters who understand nervous dogs and are happy to let him settle at his own pace. Patient guidance will be needed as he learns all about home life, including house training and walking on a harness and lead. He has recently started harness training and is beginning to enjoy it, but this will still need to be continued slowly and positively, starting with gentle practice in the garden. Once out and about, Cuba enjoys taking in the world at his own pace and loves sniffing everything in sight on his walks but he can be spooked by traffic. Cuba would prefer to be the only dog in the home, so his adopters will need to be around enough to keep him company and provide reassurance as he settles. However, his kennel mummy has been working with him lately regarding his socialization skills and he is being an amazing boy. He has greeted friends fine, but this will continue to take time and lots of trust. He will need to be the only dog in the home, but these steps show how much is confidence is growing. He will need a home without cats or small furries as he does have a prey drive. He is quite fond of using his voice and enjoys a good grumble rather than barking, which is very much part of his character. Beneath his worried exterior, Cuba is a sweet, gentle boy who has already formed strong bonds with familiar staff and is learning that not all people are bad. Cuba will need a calm and understanding home where his boundaries are respected and he can have his own safe space. With kindness, patience, and the right support, he has the potential to continue blossoming into a truly rewarding companion. Cuba has had a bilateral entropion repair and has been treated for an ear infection. Cuba will need more than one meet and greet with his prospective adopters to allow him time to build a bond and feel comfortable with them before being adopted.
