Gumiś is looking for a responsible home! This young, approximately 9-month-old dog weighs about 11 kg and came to us on July 28th from Sompolno municipality. Gumiś's beginnings at the shelter were extremely difficult. Out of great fear, he growled at us from inside his kennel, not allowing anyone to approach him... However, this smart boy made the decision to trust us on his own! 🥹 At first, he opened up to one of our employees - it was with her that he felt safe, allowing the first pets and putting on a collar. Over time, he also got used to the rest of the caregivers. He showed us how much he can be loved! Once he gets to know someone and trusts them, he turns into a wonderful, cheerful dog. He loves petting, playing and affection from caregivers. ❤️ He really liked going out of the shelter. He handles walks superbly and walks nicely on a leash. He does not relieve himself in his kennel - he takes great care of cleanliness, which is a huge plus in the context of learning to live at home! 🏠 ⚠️ Gumiś is a young dog who reacts with fear aggression in stressful and completely new situations for himself. Unfamiliar environment and people cause him a lot of fear - for example, a visit to the vet required the use of a muzzle. Gumiś lives alone in a kennel. On walks, he meets other dogs, but at the moment he did not get along with any of them, so we are looking for a home where he will be an only child or a familiar walk is necessary. Due to his sensitivity to stress and fear reactions, Gumiś is looking for a home exclusively without small children. We do not know his reaction to cats, due to the lack of possibility to check this in the shelter. Gumiś needs an experienced, aware and patient home located in a quiet environment that understands the concept of working with a fearful dog. We are looking for caregivers who can wisely set boundaries, read the signals sent by the dog and give him time to adapt without throwing him into the deep end. Gumiś szuka odpowiedzialnego domu! Ten młodziutki, ok. 9-miesięczny psiak waży ok. 11 kg i trafił do nas 28 lipca tego roku z gminy Sompolno. Początki Gumisia w schronisku były niezwykle trudne. Z wielkiego przerażenia warczał na nas ze środka swojej budy, nie dopuszczając nikogo do siebie... Jednak ten mądry chłopak sam podjął decyzję, by nam zaufać! 🥹 Najpierw otworzył się na jedną z naszych pracownic - to przy niej poczuł się bezpiecznie, pozwolił na pierwsze głaski i założenie obroży. Z czasem przekonał się też do reszty opiekunów. Pokazał nam, jak bardzo potrafi być kochany! Gdy już kogoś pozna i zaufa, zamienia się w cudownego, wesołego psiaka. Uwielbia głaskanie, zabawy i czułości z opiekunami. ❤️ Bardzo polubił wyjścia poza schronisko. Na spacerach radzi sobie super i ładnie idzie na smyczy. Nie załatwia się w swoim kojcu - bardzo dba o czystość, co jest ogromnym plusem w kontekście nauki życia w domu! 🏠 ⚠️ Gumiś to młody pies, który w stresujących i całkowicie nowych dla siebie sytuacjach reaguje agresją lękową. Nieznane środowisko i ludzie wywołują w nim ogromny strach - przykładowo, wizyta u weterynarza wymagała użycia kagańca. Gumiś mieszka sam w kojcu. Na spacerach mija inne psy, ale na ten moment z żadnym z nich się nie dogadał, dlatego szukamy dla niego domu, w którym będzie jedynakiem lub konieczny będzie spacer zapoznawczy. Ze względu na jego wrażliwość na stres i reakcje lękowe, Gumiś szuka domu wyłącznie bez małych dzieci. Nie znamy jego reakcji na koty, ze względu na brak możliwości sprawdzenia tego w schronisku. Gumiś potrzebuje domu doświadczonego, świadomego i cierpliwego, położonego w spokojnym otoczeniu, który rozumie pojęcie pracy z psem lękowym. Szukamy opiekunów, którzy potrafią mądrze stawiać granice, odczytywać sygnały wysyłane przez psa i dają mu czas na adaptację bez rzucania go od razu na głęboką wodę.
