Dopo un incidente nel novembre lo ha reso cieco, Jimbo è stato amabilmente curato dal rifugio fino a quando non è riuscito a viaggiare nel Regno Unito nel febbraio. Ora in affidamento, sta mostrando a tutti quanto è intelligente, affettuoso e resiliente. Jimbo adora le persone e ha un carattere naturalmente dolce e curioso. È sveglio, addestrabile e motivato dal cibo, il che rende imparare nuove cose divertente per lui. Dorme nella sua gabbia con il cane residente vicino. I Podencos ci stupiscono sempre per la loro capacità di adattamento e resistenza, e Jimbo è un esempio luminoso di ciò. Jimbo è cieco, ma si adatta rapidamente. Saprà prosperare in una casa calma e costante dove i mobili restano nello stesso posto e porte o sedie non sono lasciate sporgenti. Può essere spaventato se toccato improvvisamente, quindi utilizzare un segnale dolce "Tocco" lo aiuta a sentirsi al sicuro. È stato lasciato per brevi periodi con un altro cane, ma avrà bisogno di qualcuno a casa la maggior parte del giorno. Cammina bene al guinzaglio ma si affida molto alla persona per rassicurazione. Preferisce passeggiate tranquille, quindi una vita in città caotica non sarebbe ideale. Jimbo apprezzerebbe anche un giardino sicuro e protetto dove può esplorare lo spazio all'aperto senza rischi. After an accident in November left him blind, Jimbo was lovingly cared for by the shelter until he could travel to the UK in February. Now in foster, he’s showing everyone just how clever, affectionate and resilient he is. Jimbo adores people and has a naturally sweet, curious character. He’s bright, trainable and food‑motivated, which makes learning new things fun for him. He sleeps in his crate with the resident dog nearby. Podencos always amaze us with their resilience and adaptability, and Jimbo is a shining example of that. Jimbo is blind, but he adapts quickly. He’ll thrive in a calm, consistent home where furniture stays in the same place and doors or chairs aren’t left sticking out. He can be startled if touched unexpectedly, so using a soft “Touch” cue helps him feel safe. He’s been left for short periods with another dog, but he’ll need someone home most of the day. He walks well on a lead but relies heavily on his person for reassurance. He prefers quiet walks, so a busy city life wouldn’t be ideal. Jimbo would also enjoy a safe, secure garden where he can explore outdoor space without risk. Jimbo enjoys playing and curling up with the foster family’s dog and so we think Jimbo would prefer a home with a dog for both fun and confidence. As with all of our adoptions, adopters will be fully supported by our team and our trainer post‑adoption to ensure Jimbo can thrive. Blind dogs are often deeply bonded to their people. They listen harder, trust more deeply and build extraordinary connections. Watching a dog regain confidence after losing their sight is one of the most rewarding journeys you can be part of.
