Siamo stati contattati sui social media da qualcuno che aveva trovato Suerte in giro e aveva già iniziato a nutrirla e a dargli rifugio all'interno di un campo da Padel. Avevano già provveduto a portarla dal veterinario e avevano stabilito che ha la Leishmania e hanno chiesto a noi di intervenire per aiutarla. Era già abituata a loro e era felice di essere accarezzata, di indossare una cingia e una guida ecc. quindi è stato facile portarla in uno dei nostri rifugi per soccorso. È lì da un mese o giù di lì e sta andando molto bene. È socievole con altri cani, gode del gioco con loro ed è anche ottima con le persone. Molto affettuosa e felice di ricevere attenzioni. È una splendida tuttefare che prospererebbe in molte case. Pensiamo che sarebbe una buona candidata per una famiglia con bambini. Non è ancora stata testata con i gatti ma questo può essere organizzato. Ha pochissime esigenze tranne una casa dove la Leish è meglio compresa. È attualmente in un ambiente di accoglienza in Spagna mentre riceve il trattamento iniziale per la Leish e sta andando eccellentemente. Si è abituata alle nuove cose e ai rumori che vengono con vivere in una casa ed è ben adattata. Cammina bene con la guida e viaggia bene in auto. Suerte sarà castrata, vaccinata e testerà negativa per tutte le malattie mediterranee escluso la Leish - come già detto ha risposto positivo e sta ricevendo trattamento. We were contacted on social media by someone who had found Suerte straying and had been feeding her and given her shelter inside a Padel court. They had already managed to get her to a vet and had determined that she has Leishmania and they asked us to step in to help her. Suerte has shown from day one that she wants to trust people. She was calm and easy to handle on rescue, happily accepting a harness and lead. When she arrived at the shelter, she needed a period of treatment for Leishmania, so a wonderful foster family stepped in and supported her through this. She has since returned to the shelter she enjoys the company of other dogs and loves playing with her kennel friends, though large groups can sometimes overwhelm her. Her love for people is constant. Suerte adores affection, follows volunteers around for cuddles and ear scratches, and forms strong bonds with those she trusts. She would make a lovely family companion and is likely to do well with respectful children. She has not yet been cat tested, but this can be arranged. Suerte walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys her twice‑weekly outings. Heavy vehicles can occasionally startle her, but she generally copes well with traffic, new places, and the excitement of exploring. Her only ongoing need is a home that’s comfortable managing her Leishmania with routine monitoring and care. With this in place, dogs like Suerte can enjoy long, happy, healthy lives — and she’s more than ready for a family to call her own. Suerte will be neutered, is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases excluding Leish - as already stated she has tested positive and is receiving treatment.
