It’s an old grandma’s yard where a varying-sized pack of feral, unneutered dogs runs wild. The grandma doesn’t take proper care of her dogs—she’s lucky if she can even take care of herself. The house is barely standing anymore and is so filthy inside that the smell could easily overwhelm someone not used to it. Yet, the grandma still lives there with her dogs and cats. She also usually refuses to give up the dogs to the shelter, even though she can’t manage to care for such a large pack. This time, however, we miraculously reached an agreement, and the grandma agreed to surrender 16 dogs to the shelter, 11 of which were puppies. That’s how I, together with my friends, found safety here at Mazas Draugas shelter, and now I’m looking for my own forever home from here. I’d been living outdoors at the grandma’s place, and I hadn’t been socialized with people, so it took some effort at the shelter to build a bond of trust. I feel more confident when I’m around other dogs, so it would be ideal if my future home had a canine companion who could offer me support when facing exciting new situations.

Talo hädin tuskin pysyy enää pystyssä ja on sisältä niin saastainen, että haju tyrmäisi helposti tottumattoman ihmisen. Mummo elelee siellä kuitenkin koirien ja kissojensa kanssa. Hän ei myöskään yleensä suostu luovuttamaan koiria tarhalle, vaikka ei selviydykään ison lauman kanssa. Tällä kertaa ihme kyllä yhteisymmärrys saavutettiin, ja mummo suostui luovuttamaan 16 koiraa tarhalle, joista 11 oli pentuja. Niin minä ystävieni kanssa pääsin turvaan tänne Mazas Draugasin tarhalle ja etsiskelen nyt täältä käsin omaa kotiani. Minä olin elänyt ulkona mummon luona asuessani, enkä ollut sosiaalistunut ihmisiin, joten on vaatinut ponnisteluja tarhalla luoda luottamuksen side. Rohkaistun muiden koirien seurassa, joten olisi suotavaa, että tulevassa kodissani olisi koira kaveri, jolta saisin tukea jännittävien asioiden kohtaamiseen.
