Nel novembre del 2024 abbiamo ricevuto diverse segnalazioni di un cavallo in difficoltà, legato su terreno abbandonato. Molti membri della popolazione preoccupati e attenti erano disperati nel voler aiutare e lui fu messo in un'area sicura. Abbiamo organizzato per un veterinario di andare e fare una valutazione. Il Veterinario scoprì che anche se il suo stato di salute era ok, era completamente cieco in un occhio, probabilmente a causa di una condizione chiamata uveite e solo parzialmente vedente nell'altro occhio a causa di una cataratta. I suoi zoccoli però erano totalmente trascurati e il tasto centrale di ogni zoccolo era completamente scomparso, marcito a causa delle condizioni sporche e umide in cui era stato costretto a stare. Popeye2009 | Blue Roan | Cob | Under 14.2hhUnforeseen veterinary work and essential training, needed to help ponies like Popeye find a better future, places a huge strain on our limited resources.Keeping horses well, is an expensive undertaking for anyone.For charities like us, having sufficient money to keep going is a daily concern – we are Here4Horses but only if, or when, our finances allow.Please sponsor Popeye and help us be able to continue opening our doors to ponies just like him.The story so far...In November of 2024 we received several reports of a horse in distress, tethered on waste ground.Many caring and concerned members of the public were desperate to help and he was placed in a secure area.We arranged for a veterinary surgeon to go out and make an assessment.The Vet discovered that although his body condition was ok, he was completely blind in one eye, probably due to a condition called uveitis and only partially sighted in the other eye because of a cataract.His feet however, were utterly neglected and the important frog in the centre of each foot was completely missing, rotted out because of the filthy, wet conditions in which he had been forced to stand.He was a
