Rover è arrivato al rifugio spaventato e diffidente, sia per l'ambiente che per la presenza di persone sconosciute. Con il tempo ha iniziato lentamente a rilassarsi e a rivelare la sua vera personalità, avvicinandosi a noi per cercare affetto e attenzione. Una volta che forma un legame con te, ama rimanere vicino a te e ora si fida sempre più velocemente dei volontari, rilassandosi intorno alle diverse persone nelle nostre aree volontari, salutando i bambini. Rover cammina bene al guinzaglio, anche se è un cane forte e potrebbe reagire quando altri cani si avvicinano troppo in modo potente o minaccioso, quindi è importante mantenere un buon controllo e continuare con le uscite socializzanti con altri cani in un ambiente positivo. Con dedizione, addestramento e un forte legame, questo migliorerà molto, perché è davvero un buon ragazzo. I nostri volontari a lungo termine dicono tutti che è uno dei cani più obbedienti e piacevoli da portare in giro nel rifugio, e si crea un collegamento con te molto rapidamente e ascolta molto bene i tuoi suggerimenti. Segue una routine di obbedienza durante i pasti che deve essere mantenuta per sostenere il suo addestramento. Cerchiamo una famiglia responsabile per Rover, con esperienza o conoscenza di questa razza, del suo carattere e comportamento. Idealmente, dovrebbe andare in una casa tranquilla, lontano dal rumore della città, dove può godersi passeggiate tranquille in natura. È essenziale che la sua futura famiglia gli dia il tempo e la dedizione necessari per formare un legame, e che siano impegnati a continuare il suo addestramento in modo che impari a comportarsi correttamente e a guadagnare fiducia, poiché a volte può essere insicuro. Nella sua precedente casa, Rover non viveva con altri cani e aveva pochissima interazione con loro. Per questo motivo cerchiamo una casa dove possa essere l'unico cane, a meno che la famiglia non viva qui in Spagna/Marbella localmente, in modo che possiamo effettuare uscite socializzanti con gli altri cani della famiglia e presentarli gradualmente e positivamente. Gli incontri possono aver luogo nei parchi del rifugio o in natura, ad esempio. Rover richiede una licenza PPP per le adozioni in Spagna, ma è disponibile anche per adozioni internazionali.

Rover arrived at the shelter scared and distrustful, both due to the environment and the presence of unfamiliar people. Over time, he has slowly started to open up and reveal his true personality, approaching us to seek affection and attention. Once he forms a bond with you, he enjoys staying close and he is faster and faster in trusting volunteers now, relaxing around different people in our volunteer areas, saying hello to children. Rover walks well on a leash, although he is a strong dog and may react when other dogs come too close in a too powerful or threatening way, so it's important to keep good control and continue with socialisation walks with other dogs in a positive environment. With dedication, training, and a strong bond, this will greatly improve, because he is a really good boy. Our long-term volunteers all say that he is one of the most obedient, pleasant to walk dogs in the shelter, and he builds a connection with you very quickly and listens very well to your guidelines. He follows a mealtime obedience routine that should be maintained to support his training. We are looking for a responsible family for Rover, with experience or knowledge of this breed, its character, and behavior. Ideally, he should go to a calm home, away from the noise of the city, where he can enjoy peaceful walks in nature. It's essential that his future family gives him the time and dedication he needs to form a bond, and that they are committed to continuing his training so he can learn to behave appropriately and gain confidence, as he can sometimes be insecure. In his previous home, Rover did not live with other dogs and had very little interaction with them. Because of this, we are looking for a home where he can be the only dog unless the family is living here in Spain/Marbella locally, so we can carry out socialisation walks with the family's other dogs, and slowly and positively introduce the dogs to each other. Meetings can take place in the shelter's parks or in the nature for example. Rover requires a PPP license for adoptions in Spain, however he is also available for international adoptions.
