In un rifugio da: settembre 2024 Famiglia nel rifugio: Sorella: Dottie; Fratello: Brendon; Steven e la sua famiglia – Brendon e Dottie – sono stati accolti nel nostro rifugio a settembre 2024, dopo che li abbiamo trovati in un'area per picnic vicino al fiume. Purtroppo questi luoghi, soprattutto visitati nei fine settimana, vengono spesso utilizzati come posti di abbandono per cani non desiderati. Erano magri, deboli e in cattive condizioni. Un esame veterinario ha confermato che avevano il parvovirus, quindi era necessario un trattamento d'emergenza. Dopo diverse settimane di cure, finalmente si sono ripresi e hanno potuto socializzare con altri cani. Purtroppo trascorrere molto tempo in clinica e ricevere terapia endovenosa quotidiana può influire negativamente sui cani, spesso causando loro di perdere la fiducia nelle persone. Nel tempo abbiamo gestito di ricostruire questa fiducia. Anche se sono ancora un po' timidi, sono migliorati molto. Le famiglie con esperienza sarebbero la migliore scelta per loro, in quanto possono offrire comprensione e pazienza necessarie a questi cani per svilupparsi pienamente.

Sadly, these kinds of places, mostly visited on weekends, are often used as dumping grounds for unwanted dogs. They were skinny, weak, and in poor condition. A veterinary examination confirmed they had parvovirus, so emergency treatment was necessary. After several weeks of care, they finally recovered and were able to socialize with other dogs. Unfortunately, spending a long time in a clinic and receiving daily IV therapy can negatively affect dogs, often causing them to lose trust in people. Over time, we managed to rebuild that trust. While they’re still a bit shy, they have come a long way. Experienced families would be the best fit for them, as they can offer the understanding and patience these dogs need to fully thrive.
