Tag is a Pomeranian Chihuahua cross looking for an understanding and patient forever home. He is located at our Old Windsor centre. Tag is an independent dog who enjoys companionship without being overly demanding. Rather than spending his day curled up on your lap, Tag is happiest settling nearby and doing his own thing. While he isn't a dog who seeks constant fuss, Tag is affectionate on his own terms and forms strong bonds with people who respect his boundaries and allow him to build trust at his own pace. Due to this he is looking for a household with adults or older teenagers. One of the best ways to get to know Tag is through play, as he loves playing with toys outdoors and this has proven to be a great way to bond with him. Having come into our care as a stray, Tag has no known history of living in a home environment. As a result, his new family should be prepared to help him learn all the basics of home life, including house training, routines and any training that may be needed to help him settle successfully. Tag would like to be the only dog in the home. He doesn't actively seek interaction with other dogs and much prefers spending his walks doing what he enjoys most: sniffing, exploring and taking in the world around him at his own pace. His new owners should be aware that Tag finds veterinary handling stressful and has been muzzle-associated for clinic visits to help keep these experiences as positive as possible. He will benefit from owners who are willing to continue supporting him with patience and positive reinforcement. Tag has also shown himself to be something of an escape artist, so his new family will need to be mindful of security around doors, gates and outdoor spaces. As a Pomeranian cross, he will also require regular grooming to keep his coat comfortable and in good condition.
