Telis è un giovane pastore di buon carattere che vuole scoprire tutto. Cosa significa stare disteso sulla schiena sull'erba fresca. Cosa significa essere accarezzati. Cosa significa fare passeggiate senza dover lottare per la propria sopravvivenza. Cosa significa poter contare su una persona e, invece di essere respinto, essere accolto tra le sue braccia. Tutto questo e molto altro da una vita che finalmente può essere spensierata e felice. Telis è arrivato al nostro rifugio dal canile municipale di Krestena e sembrava pronto a lasciarsi tutto alle spalle e ricominciare. Quando gli abbiamo messo per la prima volta il guinzaglio, non ha esitato nemmeno per un momento. L'ha accettato, ci ha guardati e sicuramente ha pensato che fosse la sua occasione. O almeno era questa la sensazione che provavamo quando lo abbiamo portato per la sua prima passeggiata. Con lui il tempo passa piacevolmente e leggermente. Ha la curiosità di annusare tutto, ma non insiste quando dici "Vieni, andiamo". Ha l'entusiasmo di correre verso di te, ma non diventa esigente. Ti siedi e lui approfitta per appoggiarsi a te, appoggiando il suo peso su di te e guardandoti con quegli occhi grandi, come se volesse dire: "Perfetto. Ora continua ad accarezzarmi". Telis sembra conoscere il modo di godersi la vita e ha la rara capacità di insegnarlo alla sua persona. Tutto ciò che serve è una possibilità per mostrare il suo carattere. Siamo certi che in una famiglia, in una casa tutta sua, rivelera ulteriori talenti ancora in attesa di essere scoperti.

Telis is a good natured young shepherd boy who wants to discover everything. What it is like to lie on your back in fresh grass. What it is like to be petted. What it is like to go for walks without struggling for your survival. What it is like to rely on a human and, instead of being pushed away, to be welcomed into their arms. All this and so much more from a life that can finally be carefree and joyful. Telis arrived at our shelter from the municipal kennel of Krestena and seemed ready to leave everything behind and start over. When we first put a harness on him, he did not hesitate for a moment. He accepted it, looked at us, and surely thought this was his chance. Or at least that is what we felt when we took him for his first walk. With him, time passes pleasantly and lightly. He has the curiosity to sniff everything, but without insisting when you say “Come on, let’s go now.” He has the enthusiasm to run into your arms, but without becoming demanding. You sit down, and he takes the opportunity to lean against you, resting his weight on you and looking at you with those big eyes, as if to say, “Perfect. Now keep petting me.” Telis seems to know how to enjoy life and has the rare ability to teach the same to his person. All he needs is a chance to show his character. We are certain that in a family, in a home of his own, he will reveal even more gifts that are still waiting to be discovered.
