Toby è un bell'esperto di Cocker Spaniel che ha vissuto molto nella sua giovane vita e ora sta cercando una persona speciale che lo aiuti a scrivere la sua prossima pagina. Originariamente arrivato da un allevatore quando aveva solo tre mesi, Toby era un piccolo cucciolo molto spaventato che trovava il mondo sovrastante. Anche se ha trovato una casa amorevole, è stato tristemente restituito al nostro care dopo che gli adottatori si sono sentiti incapaci di gestire alcuni dei suoi comportamenti. Toby è ancora un'anima sensibile e avrà bisogno di una casa tranquilla con adulti soltanto, senza bambini in visita. La sua nuova famiglia dovrà avere esperienza con cani preoccupati o complessi e dovrà essere sicura nel aiutarlo a sentirsi sicuro. Avrà bisogno di una casa senza gatti perché li ha incontrati al rifugio ed è stato troppo interessato. Mentre è generalmente affettuoso e dolce, Toby ha mostrato alcune tendenze all'aggressione per le risorse, come mugolare quando le persone passano davanti al suo letto o al divano quando lui è lì a riposare. Una volta ha morso l'adottatore. Questo è stato un incidente isolato, ma è importante che i nuovi adottatori siano comodi nel gestire e lavorare su questi comportamenti utilizzando metodi gentili e positivi. Ha buona memoria e si intende bene con altri cani, anche se può reagire alle biciclette, quindi deve essere lasciato libero solo in aree sicure e protette lontano dal pubblico. Toby è nato con dita deformi che sono state successivamente amputate. Ha sempre avuto una zoppicata leggermente insolita a causa di questo, ma i nostri veterinari hanno notato che ha anche una rotula lussata e è in terapia del dolore per questo al momento, ma potrebbe migliorare con esercizi delicati. Ha anche una coda naturalmente corta, che aggiunge solo al suo carisma unico. Toby è un ragazzo dolce e amoroso che vuole veramente connettersi. Ha già conquistato i cuori di tutti qui, e tutti speriamo che trovi una casa calma e comprensiva dove si sentirà sicuro, costruirà fiducia e prospererà. Toby is a handsome Cocker Spaniel who has been through a lot in his young life and is now looking for a special someone to help him write his next chapter. Originally coming to us from a breeder at just three months old, Toby was a very scared little puppy who found the world overwhelming. Although he found a loving home, he was sadly returned to our care after his adopters felt unable to manage some of his behaviours. Toby is still a sensitive soul and will need a calm, adult-only home with no visiting children. His new family should have experience with worried or complex dogs and be confident in helping him feel safe. He will need a home without cats as he has met them at the rescue, and was too interested. While he is generally affectionate and loving, Toby has shown some resource guarding tendencies, such as grumbling when people pass by his bed or the sofa when he is resting there. He did once nip his adopter. This was an isolated incident, but it’s important that any new adopters are comfortable managing and working with these behaviours using gentle, positive methods. That said, since being back with us Toby has come out of his shell beautifully. He greets staff with a wagging tail, and absolutely loves attention, affection, and food, especially food! Those who work with him absolutely adore him and think he is the most special and wonderful boy! Toby will be looking for a home where he can be the only dog. He did live with another dog previously and while they did get along, he did sometimes guard his adopter’s attention, so for this reason he is best suited to being homed as an only dog. Out and about, Toby enjoys his walks and is lovely on and off the lead. He has good recall and mixes well with other dogs, although he can be reactive to bicycles, so should only be let off lead in safe, secure areas away from the public. Toby was born with some deformed toes that were later amputated. He has always had a slightly unusual gait due to this, but our vets have noted he does also have a luxating patella and is on pain relief for this at the moment, but this may improve with gentle exercise. He also has a naturally short tail, which just adds to his unique charm. Toby is a sweet, loving boy who truly wants to connect. He has already won the hearts of everyone here, and we’re all rooting for him to find a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe, build trust, and thrive. If you have the time, patience, and experience to offer Toby the gentle guidance he needs, he will reward you with loyalty, love, and plenty of cuddles.
