Adottare Wendy and Suzie

Wendy e Suzie sono stati nel nostro centro di soccorso da oltre 7 mesi, dal settembre 2025. Hanno bisogni molto particolari ma meritano una possibilità di una casa calma, sicura e confortevole. Breve storia – queste due vivevano sole in un'area boschiva essendo state abbandonate lì. È stato necessario un mese e un team di volontari per catturarle finalmente. Erano attorcigliate e terrorizzate – la nostra ipotesi è che fossero due cagne in riproduzione le cui prestazioni non erano più necessarie. Wendy, la più giovane a sinistra nella foto ha circa 5 anni ed è la più coraggiosa delle due. Suzie ha circa 9 anni. Pensiamo che siano madre e figlia, sono completamente dipendenti l'una dall'altra, non possiamo separarle. Non riusciamo davvero a toccare Suzie. Se la circondiamo in uno spazio ristretto lei si sottometterà al trattamento, alla pulizia ecc., ma non si avvicinerà mai a te. Wendy è meglio – dopo un periodo per conoscerti permetterà abbracci, grattatine sulla pancia e adora essere sollevata per un buon abbraccio. Nessuno dei due cani camminerà al guinzaglio nonostante mesi di pratica e incoraggiamento. La loro casa miracolosa dovrà avere un giardino sicuro e un padrone che ha poco interesse per passeggiate o escursioni. Vivrebbero felicemente in un giardino di qualcuno con accesso a un capanno / garage caldo e confortevole all'inizio, con la speranza che con il tempo acquisiscano il coraggio di entrare in casa per dormire e interagire. Passare a vivere in una casa richiederà tempo e pazienza. Sono curiose, quindi consigliamo di dare i loro pasti vicino a una porta posteriore aperta dove arriveranno gradualmente a mettere il naso dentro e sceglieranno di trascorrere del tempo all'interno. Ma per iniziare un capanno o un garage accogliente in uno spazio sicuro sarebbe assolutamente perfetto – meglio di quanto abbiano mai avuto.

Wendy and Suzie have been at our rescue centre for over 7 months, since Sept 2025. They have very special needs but deserve a chance at a calm, safe, comfortable home. Brief history – these two were living alone in a wooded area having been dumped there. It took 3 weeks and a team of volunteers to finally trap them. They were matted and terrified – our assumption is that these were 2 breeding bitches whose services were no longer needed. Wendy, the younger one on the left of the photo is about 5 years old and the braver of the two. Suzie is around 9. We assume they are mother and daughter, they are completely co-dependent, we cannot split them up. We can’t really touch Suzie. If we corner her in a confined space she will submit to handling, grooming etc, but she will never ever approach you. Wendy is better – after a spell of getting to know you she will allow cuddles, belly rubs and loves being picked up for a good hug. Neither dog will walk on lead in spite of months of practice and encouragement. Their miracle home will need a secure garden and an owner who has little interest in walks or excursions. They would live happily in someone’s garden with access to a warm, comfortable shed / garage initially, with the hope that they will gain the courage over time to come inside the house to sleep and interact. Graduating to living within a home will take time and patience. They are curious so we would advise giving their meals near an open back door where they will eventually poke their nose in and choose to spend time inside. But for starters a cosy shed or garage in a secure space would be absolutely fine – better than they have ever had.
