Wendy y Suzie han estado en nuestro centro de rescate desde hace más de 7 meses, desde septiembre de 2025. Tienen necesidades muy especiales pero merecen una oportunidad para tener un hogar tranquilo, seguro y cómodo. Historia breve: estos dos estaban viviendo solos en un área boscosa habiendo sido abandonados allí. Tomó 3 semanas y un equipo de voluntarios para atraparlos finalmente. Estaban embotellados y asustados, nuestra suposición es que eran dos perras en celo cuyos servicios ya no eran necesarios. Wendy, la más joven, a la izquierda de la foto, tiene unos 5 años y es la más valiente de las dos. Suzie tiene alrededor de 9 años. Suponemos que son madre e hija, están completamente dependientes la una de la otra, no podemos separarlas. No podemos tocar a Suzie realmente. Si la acorralamos en un espacio reducido ella se someterá al manejo, al cepillado etc, pero nunca nunca se acercará a ti. Wendy es mejor, después de un periodo de conocer a alguien permitirá abrazos, caricias en el vientre y le encanta ser recogida para un buen abrazo. Ninguno de los perros caminará con correa a pesar de meses de práctica y aliento. Su hogar milagro necesitará un jardín seguro y un dueño que tenga poco interés en paseos o excursiones. Vivirían felizmente en el jardín de alguien con acceso a un cobertizo / garaje cálido y cómodo inicialmente, con la esperanza de que con el tiempo ganen valor para entrar en la casa a dormir y interactuar. Graduar a vivir dentro de una casa tomará tiempo y paciencia. Son curiosas, por lo tanto les recomendamos darles sus comidas cerca de una puerta trasera abierta donde eventualmente meterán su nariz y elegirán pasar tiempo dentro. Pero al principio un cobertizo o garaje acogedor en un espacio seguro sería absolutamente adecuado – mejor de lo que han tenido nunca.

Wendy and Suzie have been at our rescue centre for over 7 months, since Sept 2025. They have very special needs but deserve a chance at a calm, safe, comfortable home. Brief history – these two were living alone in a wooded area having been dumped there. It took 3 weeks and a team of volunteers to finally trap them. They were matted and terrified – our assumption is that these were 2 breeding bitches whose services were no longer needed. Wendy, the younger one on the left of the photo is about 5 years old and the braver of the two. Suzie is around 9. We assume they are mother and daughter, they are completely co-dependent, we cannot split them up. We can’t really touch Suzie. If we corner her in a confined space she will submit to handling, grooming etc, but she will never ever approach you. Wendy is better – after a spell of getting to know you she will allow cuddles, belly rubs and loves being picked up for a good hug. Neither dog will walk on lead in spite of months of practice and encouragement. Their miracle home will need a secure garden and an owner who has little interest in walks or excursions. They would live happily in someone’s garden with access to a warm, comfortable shed / garage initially, with the hope that they will gain the courage over time to come inside the house to sleep and interact. Graduating to living within a home will take time and patience. They are curious so we would advise giving their meals near an open back door where they will eventually poke their nose in and choose to spend time inside. But for starters a cosy shed or garage in a secure space would be absolutely fine – better than they have ever had.
