17-04-26 Whimsy è arrivata da un allevatore ed è una ragazza molto preoccupata. Quando è arrivata, era molto agitata e poteva essere abbastanza spaventata, trovando molti dei panorami e dei rumori del mondo molto soffocanti. Da quando è arrivata ha iniziato a calmarsi e a uscire dal suo guscio, ma avrà ancora bisogno di tempo e di attenzioni per ambientarsi nella sua nuova vita. Una volta che conosce qualcuno, si avvicinerà dolcemente e permetterà un po' di coccole. Whimsy ha bisogno di tempo per imparare e per fidarsi, e ha bisogno di un ambiente calmo e tranquillo che comprenda i cani ex allevatori e le darà lo spazio necessario per imparare la fiducia a suo ritmo. Avrà bisogno di una famiglia calma, paziente e comprensiva disposta a lasciarla procedere lentamente e dolcemente mentre inizia a scoprire i comfort della vita domestica. Ha bisogno di un cane residente gentile e sicuro nel suo ambiente che possa guardare e su cui contare mentre impara sulla vita domestica e si ambienta. Avere un compagno canino che la guida le darà davvero aiuto per costruire la sua autostima e mostrarle che il mondo può essere un posto sicuro e felice. Whimsy cammina bene al guinzaglio, ma poiché può essere un po' spaventata, gli adottatori dovranno prendere il mondo esterno al suo ritmo, permettendole il tempo necessario per acquisire fiducia nei suoi dintorni senza sentirsi pressati. Whimsy sembra avere un cuore molto dolce, e con tempo, pazienza e gentilezza, inizierà a mostrare la sua natura amabile e dolce. Ha solo bisogno di qualcuno speciale per aiutarla a imparare la fiducia e la compagnia e per farle capire che è al sicuro e amata. Whimsy è arrivata da noi con un ascesso sul lato destro della mascella, che sta venendo trattato dai veterinari. I nostri veterinari hanno notato che ha un dente canino fratturato, ma non c'è esposizione della radice o del nervo e quindi è consigliabile lasciarlo così per ora, ma necessiterà di monitoraggio da parte degli adottatori e del loro veterinario. Whimsey came to us from a breeder as a very worried little girl who found the world quite overwhelming. When she first arrived, she was unsettled and skittish, needing plenty of time and reassurance to help her feel safe. Since then, she has made wonderful progress and has really started to show what a special girl she is. Whimsey has formed a lovely bond with her carers and now greets those she knows and trusts with enthusiastic cuddles and kisses. It has been a joy to watch her confidence grow, and she is becoming more comfortable with the people around her every day. While Whimsey has come on tremendously, she can still be nervous and unsure around new people. She will need a calm, patient and understanding home that is willing to give her the time and space she needs to build trust and settle at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her affectionate and loving personality truly shines through. She could also live with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can respect her need for a gentle introduction and allow her to settle in at her own pace. Whimsey walks nicely on a lead, but as she can still be sensitive to new experiences, her adopters will need to continue introducing her to the world gently and at a pace she is comfortable with, helping her build confidence without becoming overwhelmed. Whimsey really enjoys spending time with other dogs and loves socialising with her canine friends in the exercise yards. We now feel she could happily live with another resident dog of a similar size, provided they get along well during a successful meet and greet. Like many dogs, Whimsey can be a little selective about her friendships, so finding the right canine companion will be important. She would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home, where she could soak up all the love and attention from her family while continuing to enjoy opportunities to socialise with other dogs on walks. She cannot live with cats. Whimsey has such a sweet heart and has already shown just how much progress she can make when given kindness, patience and understanding. With the right home behind her, we know she will continue to blossom into a wonderfully affectionate companion and a much-loved member of the family. Whimsey arrived with an abscess on the right side of her jaw, which has been treated by our veterinary team. Our vets have also noted that she has a fractured canine tooth with no root or nerve exposure. At this stage, no treatment is required, but it should be monitored by her adopters and their own vet. She has also received treatment for a urinary tract infection, which has been successfully managed under veterinary guidance. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
