17-04-26 Whimsy est venue de l'éleveur et c'est une jeune fille très anxieuse. Lorsqu'elle est arrivée, elle était très perturbée et pouvait être très effrayée, trouvant beaucoup des choses et bruits du monde très envahissants. Depuis son arrivée, elle commence à s'installer et à sortir de sa coquille, mais aura encore besoin de temps et de soins attentionnés pendant qu'elle s'habitue à sa nouvelle vie. Une fois qu'elle vous connaît, elle viendra doucement vers vous et permettra un petit fouillis affectueux. Whimsy a besoin de temps pour apprendre et faire confiance, et a besoin d'un foyer calme et tranquille qui comprend les chiens anciennement élevés et qui lui laissera l'espace nécessaire pour apprendre à faire confiance à son propre rythme. Elle aura besoin d'une famille calme, patiente et compréhensive prête à la laisser avancer lentement et doucement alors qu'elle commence à découvrir les joies de la vie en famille. Cette chienne aura besoin d'un chien résident aimant et confiant avec lequel elle pourra s'appuyer et compter pendant qu'elle apprend à connaître la vie en famille. Avoir un compagnon canin pour la guider aidera vraiment à renforcer sa confiance et à lui montrer que le monde peut être un endroit sûr et heureux. Whimsy marche bien en laisse, mais comme elle peut être un peu effrayée, ses adoptants devront prendre le monde extérieur à son propre rythme, en lui donnant le temps nécessaire pour gagner en confiance dans son environnement sans se sentir pressurée. Whimsy semble avoir un cœur très doux, et avec du temps, de la patience et de la bienveillance, elle commencera à montrer sa nature tendre et affectueuse. Elle a simplement besoin de quelqu'un de spécial pour l'aider à apprendre la confiance et la compagnie et pour lui montrer qu'elle est en sécurité et aimée. Whimsy nous a été apportée avec une abcès sur le côté droit de sa mâchoire, qui est traité par les vétérinaires. Nos vétérinaires ont noté qu'elle a une canine fracturée, mais pas d'exposition de racine ou de nerf, et il est conseillé de la laisser ainsi pour l'instant, mais elle aura besoin d'être surveillée par ses adoptants et leur vétérinaire. Whimsey came to us from a breeder as a very worried little girl who found the world quite overwhelming. When she first arrived, she was unsettled and skittish, needing plenty of time and reassurance to help her feel safe. Since then, she has made wonderful progress and has really started to show what a special girl she is. Whimsey has formed a lovely bond with her carers and now greets those she knows and trusts with enthusiastic cuddles and kisses. It has been a joy to watch her confidence grow, and she is becoming more comfortable with the people around her every day. While Whimsey has come on tremendously, she can still be nervous and unsure around new people. She will need a calm, patient and understanding home that is willing to give her the time and space she needs to build trust and settle at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her affectionate and loving personality truly shines through. She could also live with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can respect her need for a gentle introduction and allow her to settle in at her own pace. Whimsey walks nicely on a lead, but as she can still be sensitive to new experiences, her adopters will need to continue introducing her to the world gently and at a pace she is comfortable with, helping her build confidence without becoming overwhelmed. Whimsey really enjoys spending time with other dogs and loves socialising with her canine friends in the exercise yards. We now feel she could happily live with another resident dog of a similar size, provided they get along well during a successful meet and greet. Like many dogs, Whimsey can be a little selective about her friendships, so finding the right canine companion will be important. She would also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the home, where she could soak up all the love and attention from her family while continuing to enjoy opportunities to socialise with other dogs on walks. She cannot live with cats. Whimsey has such a sweet heart and has already shown just how much progress she can make when given kindness, patience and understanding. With the right home behind her, we know she will continue to blossom into a wonderfully affectionate companion and a much-loved member of the family. Whimsey arrived with an abscess on the right side of her jaw, which has been treated by our veterinary team. Our vets have also noted that she has a fractured canine tooth with no root or nerve exposure. At this stage, no treatment is required, but it should be monitored by her adopters and their own vet. She has also received treatment for a urinary tract infection, which has been successfully managed under veterinary guidance. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
