Loky is a young American Bully who arrived at the shelter due to difficulties cohabiting with one of the other dogs in the household, as well as due to lack of time from his previous owners to meet his needs. Since the age of 7 months, Loky unfortunately no longer went for walks. This lack of outings, stimulation and especially socialization explains a large part of his current difficulties. He has not had the opportunity to learn to feel comfortable in different environments or to interact with other animals of the same species, which means there is a lot still to teach him. At home, Loky is a very affectionate dog and close to his human. He is a real cuddler who likes to be near those he loves. He can sometimes be a bit jealous or protective, but above all he is a sensitive dog who needs a clear, stable and reassuring framework. According to his previous owners, Loky is housebroken and does not destroy things. However, he was used to being kept in a cage when left alone; the management of loneliness will therefore need to be reworked gradually in his future home. Outdoors, everything is still to be built. Loky clearly lacks sociability and references. Facing his environment, he can quickly become excited: he barks a lot and will need real work to learn how to manage his emotions and to be more calm. Walking on a leash is also something to work on: Loky pulls a lot and will need to learn to walk more calmly and to pay attention to his human.

Loky est un jeune American Bully arrivé au refuge suite à des difficultés de cohabitation avec l’un des autres chiens du foyer, ainsi que par manque de temps de la part de ses anciens propriétaires pour répondre à ses besoins. Depuis l’âge de 7 mois, Loky ne sortait malheureusement plus en promenade. Ce manque de sorties, de stimulations et surtout de socialisation explique aujourd’hui une grande partie de ses difficultés actuelles. Il n’a pas eu l’occasion d’apprendre à évoluer sereinement dans différents environnements ni à côtoyer ses congénères, ce qui fait que beaucoup de choses sont encore à lui apprendre. À la maison, Loky est un chien très affectueux et proche de son humain. C’est un vrai pot de colle qui aime être près de ceux qu’il aime. Il peut parfois se montrer un peu jaloux ou protecteur, mais reste avant tout un chien sensible qui a besoin d’un cadre clair, stable et rassurant. D’après ses anciens propriétaires, Loky est propre et ne détruit pas. Il avait cependant l’habitude de rester en cage lors des absences ; la gestion de la solitude devra donc être retravaillée progressivement dans son futur foyer. En extérieur, tout est encore à construire. Loky manque clairement de sociabilité et de repères. Face à son environnement, il peut rapidement monter en excitation : il vocalise beaucoup et aura besoin d’un vrai travail pour apprendre à gérer ses émotions et à rester plus posé. La marche en laisse est également à travailler : Loky tire beaucoup et aura besoin d’apprendre à marcher plus calmement et à rester attentif à son humain.
